The Gite is situated within a beautiful garden & sits in a wide valley surrounded by farmland and forests providing endless woodland walks, bicycling. There are wonderful views to the Pyrenees from the gite & from the surrounding countryside.
Our guests can expect a quiet & comfortable holiday. The Gite is ideally situated for exploring The Pyrenees & the many attractive towns in the region. There are a number of good local restaurants & visitor attractions.
If an active holiday is what you are looking for the owner can take you running & recommend many
places to walk.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Hautes-Pyrenees region

SPRING - Arrives mid March, Daffodils flowering 1st week March, Wisteria beautiful early April. Temp March from 13 - 23 degrees..
SUMMER - 24 - 32 degrees approx, occasional thunderstorms off the mountains, spectacular and short. Comfortable nights, hot days.
AUTUMN- Beautiful months, Temps still warm to mid November, BBQs still good to end Oct, forest colours stunning.
WINTER - Lots of winter sun, temps from -4 to 12 degrees. Snow on Mountains from November to April. Some occasional snow at the gite but usually gone by midday.

Local attractions -

THE TOUR de FRANCE. A stage of The Tour will be starting from LANNERMEZAN on Wednesday 16th July 2008. The stage is Lannermezan - Foix. There will be a night market on Tuesday 15th July 2008 & there is guarenteed a great atmosphere in the town. Lannermezan is just 9 miles from Clogs Gite.

THE PYRENEES offers 2 Spas, grottes (caves) with neolithic paintings and under ground lake. A bird Sanctuary featuring Vultures and Eagles native to the region. Pic de Midi, an observatory for star gazers, and we are normally on the route of the Tour de France early July.

LANNERMEZAN has a large excellent market on Wednesdays selling lots of local produce.
During summer months, travelling fun fairs, circus's and many musical festivals take place. The local Salle des Fetes (village hall) also has regular gatherings and you would be very welcome participate in any of these.

How to get there

Fly to Toulouse from Gatwick, Birmingham or Bristol, or to Pau from Stanstead.
Flights with Easyjet or Ryanair. British Airways are often competitive.
Car hire is available from Toulouse and Pau, although there is a reliable train service from Toulouse or Pau to our local town of Lannemezan.

The Gite is comfortable & well equipped. The balcony is East facing with views to the garden & surrounding garden & countryside.

Large garden room, south facing with built in BBQ, round table for 8, lovely when lit by candlelight.
Extensive pretty rose filled garden, lawn area for sitting.
RIDING- Quiet horse and pony for hire from owner
RUNNING :- The owner is a keen runner and runs reguarly so if you are keen to join her let her know !
GOLF :- 20 mins away at Lannermezan
TENNIS :- 10 mins away in Castelnau-Magnoac

Further details

The garden area to the front of the gite which is fully managed by the owner is for the sole use of guests of the gite.
To take advantage of cheaper flights, why not come mid week

Conditions

Not suitable for toddlers as the staircase cannot be easily gated. Older children & babies very welcome. We can provide a travel cot
