Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Immaculate luxury flat in converted Grange. Equipped with entirely new furniture and equipment in 2009. We lived here for a little over two years as a “weekly commute” home, and now use it as a weekend/holiday home close to nearby family members when not let to guests.
The flat is well suited for a romantic break or for walking, cycling or bird watching holidays, or just for exploring the beauty of sleepy Somerset.

The West Country region
Around Redwood Grange is a golfers paradise with a course less than 5 minutes drive away at Long Sutton, an impressive 18 hole course developed in the late 1980s, plus Yeovil Golf Club with two courses, Sherbourne GC, Taunton GC, Windwhistle GC and several others within 30 – 45 minutes drive.
If other sporting activities are your choice there is an excellent sports centre with an outdoor (summer only) heated pool, gym, squash courts and tennis courts five minutes walk from the flat at Huish School. Staff are friendly and the casual rate is extremely reasonable.
If you are particularly keen on tennis there is a friendly club at Somerton who welcome visitors to club sessions.
Central Somerset offers a collection of varied historic places of interest, even if you ignore Bath!! These include Montecute House, Tintinhull House, Glastonbury, Somerton, Ilminster, Sherborne Abbey, Stourhead etc.
Great for walking and cycling, with hill walks/tracks in the Quantocks, Mendips and Blackdown Hills, or in Hardy Country (Central and Southern Dorset).
Coastal walks can also be found along the edge of Exmoor, the Dorset coast at Chesil Beach, Burton Bradstock and Portland.
There's a selection of walking books and OS Maps in the flat and we have added comments on walks we have done ourselves.
There are large beach resorts at Burnham on Sea and Weston super Mare on the North Coast, or Weymouth on the South Coast, plus Minehead's huge Butlins complex all 40 – 90 mins away.
If pretty harbours and quieter beaches are more for you, try Watchet, Blue Anchor and Lynmouth on the edge of Exmoor, or, Charmouth, Sidmouth, Seaton, Bere, Lyme Regis, Eype, Seatown and West Bay on the Jurassic coast, all typically less than 1 hour by road.
Langport and Somerton (4 miles away), serve the surrounding rural community and therefore have more to offer than one might expect.
In addition to a mid-sized Tesco, and a locally owned supermarket in Somerton, Langport offers a high quality fruit and veg stall, butchers, bakers, a magnificent wholefoods/delicatessen, plus two coffee shops, and 4 take-aways (Indian, Chinese, Kebabs and Fish and Chips) for that first evening/first morning, so don't be tempted to bring your food with you!!!
If you prefer to eat out you need travel little more than 5 minutes to get a wide variety of pubs and bistros in Langport, Somerton, and Long Sutton, with more exotic food in Taunton, Yeovil & Street. Details will be left in the information file in the living room. Please add to these if you try somewhere new!!
The flat is 4 minutes walk from the edge of the Somerset levels, with scope for bird watching walking and cycling.
