Home description
A family gite where adults can relax and children can find adventure and fun. La Vieille Tinguaie is a lovingly restored 17th Century farmhouse set in grounds of 3 acres in the Breton countryside just 30 minutes from beaches. We offer child friendly, family holidays. Your children will enjoy and care for our animals and pets including goats, cats, guinea pigs and poultry. There are children's play areas with a playhouse and a store of toys, zip wire, table tennis, swings see saw, slides, football pitch and archery. There is an above ground swimming pool. A small paddling pool is available for babies. For those times when parents want to relax or shop we offer children's play sessions and babysitting. We pride ourselves on freshly prepared meals, which are available on request to return to after a day out. Continental Breakfasts are also available. The fully fitted kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and cooker. There is a dvd and video player in the lounge along with satellite television.

The Brittany / Cotes-D'Armor region
From May through to September Brittany enjoys a warm Spring and Summer. Temperatures have been as high as 38 degrees in June and July; but tend to average the mid 20s throughout much of the summer. the historic towns of Dinan, Saint Malo and lamballe are close by. Dinan hosts a medieval fair and tournoi every two years in July. In alternate years the historic town of Moncontour hosts the spectacle. The town of Lamballe is home to the Haras horse stud and throughout the summer holds regular evening shows featuring many of its breeds of horses. Mont St Michel is a favourite visit with our guests who can spend many hours exploring the historic medieval abbey fortress. Nearby to the mount is Alligator bay. Well worth a visit! The north coast is in easy reach of the gite and has miles and miles of unspoilt and sandy beaches. Our favourite is at at San Pabu with its many rock pools and vast expanse of sand. For those who prefer the prom and shops with their beach day the towns of Pleneuf Val Andre and Erquy are special; with many good seafood restaurants as well.
Langourla area
Local facilities include Post Office, 3 bars, boulangerie, epicerie, lake, restaurant, library, playground and open-air theatre. An international jazz festival is held every year here in August. Nearby Merdrignac has an outdoor swimming pool and a lake in the heart of the Hardouinais Forest ideal for relaxation and swimming. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing, golf and horseriding. Pony rides can be arranged for young children.

By ferry to Saint Malo which is just 50 minutes away Cheap flights to Dinard with Ryan Air from Stansted and Luton; and with Flybe from Birmingham to Brest.

Further details indoors: We pride ourselves on being very child friendly, our motto being that parents can holiday where they can enjoy the company of their children. Young children receive a small gift on arrival. There is a selection of clean toys and children's books in the lounge. There are hygenic mattress covers on all beds and for asthma sufferers there are some anit-bacterial duvets. Each bathroom has a toddler step.There is a baby changing table. We have 2 cots with bedding, and 2 high chairs with safety straps. There are 2 taller chairs for young children in the dining area. We provide all bed linen and some towels.
Further details outdoors: There are children's play areas with a playhouse and a store of toys, zip wire, table tennis, swings, see saw and slides. There is an above ground pool . A small paddling pool is available for babies. In addition guests are invited to enjoy the land in which the house is situated: to play in the woods and by the stream. Children in particular can enjoy the freedom that the grounds give them to explore and play. We also have facilities for archery and football.

Conditions
We require a deposit of £150 or €225 at the time of booking for each week of your stay. This deposit is non refundable. We also require a security deposit of £150 or €225 to cover any damage to the contents or fabric of the gite or pool. This sum is payable at the time of the final payment and will be fully refunded to you, if everything is in order, within two weeks of the end of your stay with us. Electricity: A weekly unit allowance of 200 units will be made and the meter read on arrival and departure. During the summer months it is unlikely that you will use more units than those allowed. In the periods when the heating is used it is likely that the unit allowance will be exceeded and a charge of 0.13€ per unit will be made. For shorter stays than one week a daily proportional unit allowance will be made.
