We enjoyed Kerhotten. OUr hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Grounds beautifully landscaped, wonderful for sitting in or wandering around. Location central to everywhere we wanted to go; to one of the cities, to a market town or to the coastal villages. |

Not at all what we expected. The other cottages may be lovely, but ours - The Granary - felt shabby and rather unloved: a broken paving slab, computer disks screwed to the door frame, a... more |

A beautiful, peaceful spot for R & R. We stayed in Willow Cottage which was equipped with everything one could need. The view of the lake, which one can walk around in about half an hour, was lovely. Jackie and Garry were very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately the weather (in mid July) was too cold and wet for us to use the pool, but it looked like a lovely area to relax - surrounded by farmland growing crops, with a great view of the lake. There were nearby 'things to do' and, if you don't mind driving, Auray and Vannes make a good day out. We would like to return to Kerhotten. Response: Thank you for your kind words it is very much appreciated |

Chestnut cottage
This was our first visit to France and we could not have chosen a more perfect location. Kerhotten is practically in the centre of Brittany and is therefore ideal for exploring. Chestnut Cottage was perfect for our large family of 8 very clean, comfortable and well stocked for our needs. The location was quiet and peaceful and the swimming pool was a real treat! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Apart from the changeable weather we had a wonderful break (6 adults and 3 children). The cottage was comfortable, facilities great and lots of knowledge of the local and surrounding area from Jackie and Gary which helped plan our days immensely.

To Jackie & Garry – you have been great! Lots to talk about particularly all your local knowledge. The gite is one of the best we have had with all our experiences in France. The reviews are second to none; very beautiful and peaceful, what more could one wish for. We hope to be back next year and we will certainly book again with you. Thank you so much for being so kind and wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed a half – term break with children and grand children. Weather started off poor with fine rain and cold, but brightened up towards the end of the week to blazing sunshine. We enjoyed the pool, walks round the lake and longer trips to Vannes and Lamore Pelage. The children enjoined the beach on Lac du Gurleden for a shorter trip. Jackie and Garry, helpful as always. Local shop in Langoelan is open on Sunday, but supermarkets etc shut, so food planning is necessary, especially on arrival.
Overall a beautiful and peaceful spot.

Kerhotten is a beautiful place and Garry and Jackie could not have been nicer or more helpful and welcoming. The Granary is very comfortable and the kitchen is better stocked that at home! Boules was great fun. Many historical places visited, museum at St Marcel – excellent. Also Suscinio chateau and Josselin chateau well worth a visit. Good golfing also.
Thank you to Garry and Jackie for providing a very warm relaxing visit.

Kerhotten is a find. We’ve had a very relaxing week and enjoyed being here at the Farmhouse so much and visiting the surroundings. It’s been great having so beautiful lake on our doorstop and playground for the children we’ve also enjoyed the evening meals at La Florentine pizzeria in the village. Garry and Jackie have been excellent hosts, providing useful local info and a relaxing environment for us. The gardens are beautifully well tended too.
It would be lovely to come again and we’ll certainly recommend Kerhotten to others!
Many thanks

Lovely week, Garry & Jackie so very helpful. Weather not so good but didn’t detract from very relaxing week. Zoo at Point Scorff well worth a visit as was Les Aquatides at Loudeac. For a very special meal visit Restaurant Le Seqvoia, Auborge de Pont Caueck. (Ask Garry for vague directions!!) a very French experience. Definitely not fast food. Kids loved the pool and walks around the lake with slide etc. Would come back tomorrow but work doesn't permit! Brilliant week, had a lovely time even though weather was a bit dodgy, great place for kids, so well equipped for them and a lovely place to relax, will definitely come back!
What a fantastic location for a holiday, the views are wonderful we have found it really easy to relax, although weather hasn’t been on our side it hasnt mattered, thanks for giving our little boy a brilliant first holiday. Once again thank you to Garry and Jackie. And yes! We will be back.

It is a beautiful and tranquil location, perfect for a relaxing break. We were lucky with the sunshine in our first week and made good use of the splash pool, even Rufus had a dip of his toes in, but at only 4 ½ weeks hey wasn’t too impressed! We found the beach at Lac de Guerledan (Anse de Sordan) perfect for Lex (4 years old) as it was safe for swimming & the merlin restaurant served lovely food, albeit very expensive with the exchange rate unfavourable to the pound. Top tips: get to the boulangerie by 8.30am if you want to be sure to get croissants!! : The crêperie in Rostrenen (de breizh) was perfect for a set price lunch of crepes and a cider.

We had a very enjoyable holiday with activities to suit all ages. The children enjoyed the beach at Larmour plage and the Lac de Guerledan where they built sand castles whilst the older ones went on kyat’s. We had an excellent visit to the mohair farm where the owner Ann Maria spoke endlessly about the goats muck to every ones enjoyment. Jackie and Garry were very knowledgeable and helpful which helped to make the stay very relaxing. Alex particularly enjoyed his gardening sessions with Garry on the last day! Thank you.

We have had a lovely week. Garry and Jackie have been fantastic hosts. If you want to know, where, how, when…. Ask them! We went to the village feast and ? ate crepes & drank local ‘cidre brew, great atmosphere, very old fashioned and accountability and probably like British fates were years ago.
We have also seen Pontivy (for the best supermarket bare right at the bridge and follow the river – intermarche, bike shop, Mcd’s, furniture, children’s cloths etc…) Quimper is lovely if a little expensive ?
Lac de Guerledan is great – head for ‘beau de rvage’ – very picturesque for lots to do. All in all it’s been a fantastic holiday we will be back!
Goodwin family, Dorset 2009
Quite agree with earlier comment – Sat Nav a must.
The cottage is lovely and setting really tranquil and beautiful with plenty of space for children to have fun. Unfortunately we were really unlucky with the whether and had rain every day. Enjoyed trips to Lac de Guerledan (hired peadaloes!) the castle in Pontivy and also to the beach – both Larmor plage (beach) and Pont Louis (beach great rock pooling and lovely restaurant right on the front)
Thanks to Jackie & Garry for their help.

What a lovely and relaxing 2 weeks. Lovely weather to enjoy the pool and walks around the lake. The kids had a great time swimming, playing football and boules. Mark enjoyed riding the bike all around the countryside – and the rest of us we loved reading!!
Thank you to Jackie and Garry for providing such a lovely place to stay and their warm and friendly care.

We’ve had a lovely relaxing week here at Kerhotten. Several overcast days when we made the most of cycling on the Voie Vet to Mur de Bretangne, & a day trip to Josselin. We really enjoyed cycling to the lake & village in the morning & treated ourselves to a lovely meal at the pizzareia. The kids loved playing boules and trying fishing. We also were treated to the local Andoville’(sausage) festival at Guemene which was erm “intresting”

What can we say what hasn’t already been said. A gem yes! We will defiantly be back. The house, area and welcome were all wonderful. Enjoy your stay here, we all did and appreciate all of the hard work and dedication put in by Garry & Jackie and Jenny(of course) Concarneau on market day is an excellent day trip (1 hr each way) but well worth it Combined with Port Aven, and remember here everything stops for lunch.
Thank you so much to Garry & Jackie, counting the weeks to our return.

We’ve had a relaxing holiday with mixed weather, but managed a dip in the pool most day’s! Highlights include Monday market at Pontivy stocking up on fruit, cheese, bread etc. Kids loved Parc de Prechistocic and O C’canapolis in Brest with penguins, seals feeding & sealions. (you need a full day and & lunch is good; self service French style try it). Sunday lunch at the Merlin restaurant on Lac de Guerledan was a treat for mum & dad and kids had a paddle at the artificial beach after!you could also picnic there too.
