Langoelan area
THE LAND OF MYTHS & LEGENDS
Our gite is situated right in the middle of Brittany , we are in a rural location ( farmland, lakes, forests ) we are situated mid-way ( 2km )between two small villages. The nearest town to us is Guermene Sur Scorff (10 mins) and the nearest city is Pontivy (20mins).
There are two "very good" restaurants/bars in Langoelan , there is also a petrol station and a small shop for bread and milk in the mornings , there is also a medium sized lake between our property and Langoelan (1.5km,) it is great for walking or cycling around , it has a children's play area , and a snack bar ,
The largest lake in Brittany, "Lac du Guerladan" is only 20 minutes by car and has a couple of sandy beaches , it has peddalo and boat hire , boat cruises and good restaurants and is well worth the visit.
The Nantes du Brest Canal Meanders lazily throughout the region and makes for great cycling or walks. There are numerous activities for children and adults within an hours drive , Zoo's , quad biking , amusement parks , etc.
It really is an ideal area for touring, cycling , walking and all manner of watersports.
We are centrally located about 45mins to the west and north coasts, with there unspoilt sandy beaches, and various attractions.
The Morbihan region is perfect if you enjoy rugged landscapes with lakes, old castles, and many dense forests, monasteries and the like.
How to get there
Driving time from the ferry at St Malo is approx 1hr 45m, Hire cars are available from the Airports at St Brieuc or Dinard.
The best time to buy a ferry ticket is probably between October and February. During this time deals for the following year abound. Good deals can be found throughout the year especially by using the Internet.
Brittany Ferries run services from Plymouth to Roscoff (6 hours), from Portsmouth to St-Malo (9 hours), from Poole to Cherbourg, from Portsmouth to Caen and from Cork to Roscoff.
Condor Ferries run a high-speed service between Weymouth/pool and St-Malo (4 hours 15 minutes) though it can be trying on a rough crossing.
American visitors may well fly to Paris and hire a car. The journey from Paris to La Villeneuve takes just over 5 hours.
Fly Ryanair from London Stansted to Dinard in an hour, then hire a car. It's an hour-and-three quarters drive to La Villeneuve.

"Thankyou - yes we had a great time Weather was good - a couple of warm days - enough to get our daughter into both the sea and Lake. We will certainly recommend you to anyone coming our way next year."
"Chris and I have stayed at La Ville Neuve each year for the past 3 years. When we first stayed at La Ville Neuve it was a comfortable welcoming typically French farmhouse. We have watched the renovation work progress, evolving it into a beautiful accommodation, without it losing its character and charm.
Our holidays there have been varied, some days we took advantage of the converted pump house, that is a lovely place to lounge in the sun overlooking large gardens and orchards that belongs to the house.
