Laundry Cottage is part of the original Eighteenth century mansion house laundry building and is a semi-detached property in the quiet centre of the main Estate. Newly renovated in 1998 the accommodation comprises two good sized bedrooms (one with queen size bed, one twin bedded), lounge/ dining room with open log fireplace, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, fridge and freezer and a fully tiled bathroom with bath and shower.
Parking is close to the cottage with deer parks nearby and unfenced open garden ground part of the central Estate policies surrounding. Electric storage central heating throughout. Awarded 4 Stars Self Catering by the Scottish Tourist Board in the summer of 1998.

The cottage is in the middle of a 2000 acre country Estate and has great access to walks and outdoor pursuits. Paintball and Archery are offered by Wilderness Adventure as well as delicious home cooked food in the Carmichael Farmhouse Kitchen.

Price Reductions: these reductions apply only to stays of one week or more. Only one deduction allowed per week. Repeat visit £50 per week. Single person occupancy £50 per week, 2nd consecutive week £50. 2 person occupancy deduct £30 per week (except in Pond, Eastgate and Feshiebruach).

A cleaning charge will be levied if necessary £20 partial clean. £30 full clean
Normal letting period run Saturday to Saturday but can be flexible.
Arrival is generally expected around 4pm and departure is requested by 10 am on the final day
Office Hours 9.00-5.00 Monday-Friday. Visitor Centre Reception 10.00 - 5.00 every day
Booking a £80 deposit is require to secure a booking. Balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. If booking less than four weeks in advance full payment is require immediately. Cheques payable to CARMICHAEL ESTATE. Credit card payments payable by telephone. We recommend cancellation insurance (available at extra cost on request). All payments non refundable. Cancellations for genuine reasons may be recompensed by new holiday dates subject to availability (assumes uninsured).

The Central Scotland / Strathclyde / Lanarkshire/Glasgow region
The Clyde valley is a gem in central southern Scotland. It is green and lush and rural in contrast to the vibrant cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh which are less than 1 hour away. It is an excellent touring base for the rest of Scotland and is peppered with interesting history, villages and countryside.
The Lanark area
New Lanark World Heritage Site is less than 5 miles away. The exciting cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than 1 hour from Carmichael. Loch Lomand, Stirling, Fife & St Andrews are within 90 minutes.
The Carmichael Visitor Centre and Farm Shop on the Estate has a museum, tearoom and farm shop with adventure playground for the kids. Free entry.

We just needed a short break to get away from life. The Maid's Cottage provided that and so much more. The amenities are a home away from home. The kids had to make their own fun which was wonderful to watch and take part in. You could hear the silence whilst watching the rabbits and deers. We would definitely return.
