Home description

Set between the Elle and Vire river valleys, this lovingly restored beautiful old farmhouse on 13 tranquil acres of Normandy countryside offers its guests both B and B and, during the Festive Season, self-catering accommodation. The very large house is luxuriously furnished and contains a great deal of exposed stone and oak beams. While the reception rooms and bedrooms are very characterful, the six en-suite bathrooms are thoroughly modern.

Horse and pony riding and cycle rental are available on site. There are several peaceful paths right on the doorstep for walking or horse riding. There are many choices for fine and casual dining within 10 minutes of the village. The house is less than 10 minutes drive to Torigni-sur-Vire and 25 minutes to historic Bayeux. Omaha beach is just 40 minutes away. There are two golf courses and lots of fishing within easy reach. A very peaceful relaxing place to stay.

The Normandy / Manche region

This part of Normandy is home to the historic cities of Bayeux, Caen and Saint Lo, as well as the D-Day landing beaches. There are many bustling market towns to visit nearby, as well as many lovely seaside resorts, such as Granville, Agon-Coutainville and the magnificent Mont St. Michel, which is under an hour away. The region is generally quite sparsely populated and therefore very calm and peaceful, thereby facilitating easy, stress-free travel.


Lamberville area

Lamberville is an agricultural community, consisting mostly of farms. The sleepy village of Lamberville is set in an unspoilt area of rolling hills in the heart on the Normandy countryside. It is situated on a "route de velo", which attracts a great many cyclists, and is surrounded by many wonderful, marked walking paths.There are many fine restaurants within ten-minutes' drive of the village.

There are two suites, each consisting of a large room with a king size bed and a smaller room with either two twin beds or bunk beds, as well as four additional large en-suite doubles. All of the rooms are beautifully furnished and can accommodate a folding bed and/or cot if desired. While all of the accommodation is contained in the farmhouse, four of the bedrooms have their own doors on to the gardens or terrace. The farmhouse is quite versatile and can be let as a two, three, four, five, six, seven or eight bedroom unit. The hosts and their three children live just across the courtyard and would be happy to help in any way.

Further details outdoors:
The farmhouse faces the courtyard and has front and rear terraces. The entire property consists of extensive fields and trees, and is surrounded by unspoilt farm land. While La Beauconniere used to be a dairy farm, the fields are now occupied by four horses and two ponies, which are available for hire. There is also a small football pitch availabe on the premises. There is plenty of room to relax and unwind in a perfectly calm and safe environment. While there is no exact translation for "La Beauconniere", we have been given to understand that it means "Beautiful knowing". We hope you will agree that this is an appropriate description.
