This three bedroom ground floor apartment with private patio has been tastefully converted from former service buildings in the owner's 17th Century Grade II Listed house. It is fitted out to a high standard with comfortable accommodation to suit a short break or a longer stay, providing a welcoming home-from-home in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Dairy has the added bonus of being the nearest accommodation for Lamberhurst Golf Club or if you just want to relax you are welcome to explore the six acres of gardens. The garden contains a large pond, a rose garden that was once a tennis court, a walled garden that once provided much of the food for the household, and many other lovely areas and walks. There is a rock garden that was originally designed by the famous Victorian garden designer James Pulham and Son in the 1860s.

The Lamberhurst Area

The historic village of Lamberhurst was once famous for its iron. the great Gloucester furnaces produced the iron rails around St.Paul's Cathedral. Now the village has relaxed into a quieter pace offering visitors beautiful countryside and excellent food. Lamberhurst is a great base to explore castles, cathedrals, museums and historic houses; they are all part of the scenery. Located just 40 miles south of London, the area combines history and some great leisure activities.

"Beautiful Location to explore Lamberhurst"

We stayed at The Dairy at Court Lodge Estate for 3 nights while visiting family in Lamberhurst. The accommodation is very spacious, we are a family of four and there was plenty of room for all of us. We were met by the owners on arrival who were very helpful and had provided a welcome pack for us and on the first night, there was no hot water for one of the showers, I left a message on their answering machine, by the time we had returned from dinner out, the problem was fixed with no drama. The kitchen is well appointed and the rooms nice and warm (we stayed in winter) The only minor complaint is perhaps more lighting in the living room as it was impossible to sit and read by the open fire as the lighting was so dim. The beds were very comfortable and cosy, we had family over to visit one night, there were 8 of us, enough space for everyone and the kitchen is very well set up for a larger number of people. The Dairy can sleep six easily. There are lovely grounds to explore, a local church to visit and even a flat lawn for soccer practice with goals set up which our teenager loved as did our relatives. Lamberhurst is a lovely place to visit, lots of nice pubs, try the Brown Trout or the Vineyard, there are lots of local walks. I should mention that the property overlooks the golf course so the view every morning is lovely and is very quiet.

"Large, super comfortable and a hidden gem."

The Dairy is 3 bedrooms, surprisingly spacious and is extremely well equipped accommodation. It would be suitable for even quite a long stay with a family and was great with teens, with separate bathrooms. It is converted from the original dairy of Court Lodge, a lovely Georgian Manor house tucked away 3-4 minutes walk from Lamburhurst, which is a really charming village whose history is closely linked to Court Lodge, as we found out from our friendly and helpful hosts, Heather and Ian. Lamberhurst also has a great little shop, even has an organic section, which was perfect for self catering. There is also a selection of several lovely country pubs on the nights we didn't want to cook. The Dairy has a new kitchen and bathrooms, large fridge, great cookware and sharp knives- heaven! The beds are very comfy (kids asked me to be sure I added that) and the linen/towels are great quality. Cleanliness was top notch. Court Lodge's historical garden, which we were welcome to explore, is in the process of being restored and is wonderful even now, and rumour has it that Jane Austen stayed there! I can certainly imagine her wandering about and thought of her when we walked on old footpaths through fields to the nearby Scotney Castle (well worth a visit). With its comfort, charm, surrounding attractions and peaceful location, staying at The Dairy at Court Lodge was a highlight of our trip.

A wonderful escape from it all, beautifully decorated with all mod cons. Our bed was really comfy! Gorgeous surroundings, a great welcome and I would highly recommend it.

"Fascinating place"

Stayed with husband, 2 children and my sister. Ample space and comfortable. More than just a base for touring, as we wandered around the 6 acres of gardens, and felt involved with the historical research and plans for renovations of the historic ornamental features. We will be revisiting their website to see how they get on in future.
