A restored traditional farmhouse with a large garden and a private 11m (40ft) salt pool. The perfect place for a family to unwind and a great base to explore all the Dordogne has to offer. There are spectacular views of the surrounding valley and the medieval Chateau from windows, the balcony and and patios.

Lafage is at the edge of the village of Lanquais, with a shop and bar/restaurant with good value, excellent French cuisine.

Lanquais is only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, or under 2 hrs from Bordeaux. The Bastide town of Lalinde is only 5 minutes drive away and offers a selection of restaurants, a lively weekly market and supermarket shopping.

Lanquais (featured in the book -The twenty prettiest villages in the Dordogne) is in a small valley off the Dordogne river. The property is above the village and across the valley from the medieval chateau.

The Dordogne region is famous for it's food, markets, medieval towns and prehistoric sites. The river allows for water sports and the climate is ideal for a family holiday

"Tranquil, beautiful, enjoyable happy adults, happy kids, in a word Fantastic"

We travelled with four children and two adults, from Ireland by boat. This villa is just on the edge of a tiny village, walking distance for all even the small people. Yet while there you feel you are in the deepest country side and enjoy total privacy as the property is surrounded by trees and hedges. The pool was beautiful and spotlessly clean, again suitable for all ages. We dined most days outside under an old shaded tree, and had many enjoyable barbeques. The villa offered everything from, books, dvds, television, and was a cool respite from the very hot times of the day. A great place for families or groups of friends who enjoy walks and good food. The local village restaurant is superb and excellent value with extremely friendly locals. We went out to celebrate one of the childrens birthday there one evening, and they arrived at the end of the meal with a cake and candles!
