Les Mouries is an old stone farmhouse set in a well established garden and stunning panoramic views. The nearest shops are 7 minutes away in the Bastide village of Castillonnes which has a swimming pool, tennis courts, cinema (showing English films twice a week) petrol station and shops and restaurants. Closer to home is the traditional French bar at Lalandusse which is a 10 minute walk away and is a delight to sit outside on a warm sunny evening. Les Mouries is an ideal base from which to explore Les Eyzies, Bergerac, Sarlat and the delights of the Dordogne. Canoeing on the rivers Garonne and Dordogne is a popular holiday pastime.
Les Mouries is the owners' home for the majority of the year and, as a consequence, is well maintained and cared for. The rooms are high-ceilinged downstairs, airy and spacious. Wooden shutters keep the interior cool when the temperature rises. Interior furniture and fittings are good quality and individual. Beams are evident in all rooms and wooden floors are throughout the house. Wifi is available for visitors' use. The house make a cosy hideaways for a romantic break or a luxury self-catering holiday for larger groups. Beautifully restored by the owners , we provide lots of detail of the property and the area and things to do. There is English television and there are plenty of board games, good novels and some DVDs and CDs. There are two patios and breakfast can be taken in the sunshine and the evening meal in the shade. There is a tiled path leading to the pool terrace. We do provide poolside towels to save you having to bring your own. The swimming pool is new and modern with an adjoining terrace and for guests' use only. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn with fantastic views, shade from established trees and the facilities to BBQ.Property restrictions: The gite complex is for a maximum of 6 people only and for the sole use of the renters. The property is strictly no smoking.
The amount you pay is all inclusive, unless you cause damage or more than 6 hours cleaning is required. We offer 5% REDUCTION for returnees, 5% REDUCTION if you are just a couple using one bedroom and bathroom and 5% REDUCTION for every second week booked.
Please don't arrive before 4pm and you should leave the gite by 10am, to allow for a thorough clean; these times are not negotiable.
We would ask that you pay 30% to secure your booking. Six weeks before your holiday, please pay the complete cost of the holiday as outlined in the rental rates.

Les Mouries is the perfect base for exploring mediaeval towns and the wine capital of Saint Emilion. The world famous prehistoric cave paintings are at Lascaux and the Dordogne valley is nearby with its thousand Châteaux. We offer a tranquil setting ideal for relaxation. Sample the produce at the AOC vineyards of Bordeaux and Bergerac, or enjoy the many local markets, where you can buy local specialities such as truffles, cèpes, and foie gras.
Within a short drive you can paddle a canoe down the river, take part in a vineyard tour and you could visit a different farmers' market every day of the week. Brocantes abound and open air entertainment is plentiful in village courtyards and streets.
