About the home

Las Golondrinas is situated halfway up a beautiful andalucian valley and is the most truly perfect place to chill out and completely unwind from the stresses and strains of modern life. Great base to explore the region, or as a relaxing retreat. The large swimming pool overlooks the Lake Viñuelas waters. This is a great place for familes,couples or groups of friends, both for an unforgettable summer holiday and for a winter vacation away from cold and rain.

Within 5 minutes drive you will find a couple of restaurants and the pretty town of Puento don Manuel is just 10 mins away . Here you will find shops and cafes.

The nearest beach is about 20 mins drive. There pretty town of Nerja is about 40 mins away. For familes there is a large well kept water park about 20 mins drive.

Throughout the year the area has many fiestas and festivals.

We now offer a welcome basket for only 15 € with organic fruits and vegs from a local supplier - garlic the size of a fist, tasty avocadoes, huge sweet crunchy onions... the variety depends on which season you visit us in.

Well behaved pets are welcome, an extra deposit required.
No smoking policy within the villa.
The owners will not accept responsibility for any accidents or injury that may occur in or around the villa or pool, and recommend that all persons booking take the precaution of travel insurance.
All breakages must be paid for by guests.

“Absolutely fantastic villa with stunning views - Perfect!” We stayed at Las Golondrinas in mid Sept 2011 for 10 days. We were in need of a totally relaxing chilled out holiday to rest and unwind and that is exactly what we got. As soon as you arrive at the villa, the stunning views just take your breath away and then to have the luxury of this amazing villa just makes this a perfect place to go to escape and chill out. Like other guests before us, we also found it difficult to leave the villa as it does indeed have everything you need to enjoy peace and tranquillity. The kitchen and dining area is fabulous and so big that it is a sheer joy to rustle up your favourite meals whist enjoying a glass of wine or a beer and looking out at the amazing surroundings. In regards to previous posts about the pool, we found the pool to be clean and tidy and so therefore can confirm to future guests that the problem with the pool has definitely been resolved and we were in the pool every day. Bruce who is your host is on hand for anything you might need or any questions and we would very much like to thank him for all his help and advice and for allowing us a small slice of paradise in his beautiful villa. Definitely returned home totally relaxed and chilled out and hope to return again one day soon. “Beautiful villa with stunning views” We have just returned from an 8 night stay in this beautiful villa. It really is a home from home, with great living space both inside and outside. The kitchen diner is fantastic. In fact, we found it very difficult to leave the villa as it had everything you need for a relaxing break. Usually takes a couple of days to wind down, but with a glass of wine sat on the patio overlooking the lake and mountains, relaxation was instant! Difficult to describe the views. You have to be there to truly appreciate them. Stunning! The villa is in a very private location off the beaten track. Would stongly recommend a car (4 x 4). There are some lovely villages nearby with a good restaurants. The coast is a 10 minute drive away as is the main supermarkets in Velez Malaga. the villa is ideally situated as a base for exploring both inland and coastal areas of the costa del sol. The only blott on our stay was the pool. It was not full and poorly maintained. Admittedly, it was very hot whilst we were there, but it was clear the pool had been neglected for some time. As a couple, we used it, but had we had young children with us, we would not have let them use it. This, I am sure, is easily rectifiable, but it does need attention. Overall, we had a fabulous time and will definitely return for a longer stay. Response: I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay, and I appreciate your review very much. Unfortunately I was away for two weeks and during this time the pump for the main water supply broke down. It was replaced within hours, but inadvertently the pump for the swimmingpool was switched off and it wasn't dealt with until I got back. Normally the pool is crystal clear. It is indeed recommended to have a car during your stay as the villa is secluded, but 99 % of the guests just rent a normal, small rental car and can get around without problems, I wouldn't say a 4 x 4 is necessary (my car is a Renault Espace).

“Very peaceful...superb views....beautiful !!!” Absolutely fantastic villa with beautiful views across Lake Vinuela. So many places of interest to visit too. A car is needed to get out and about. However due to circumstances beyond my control, i traveled alone with my 3 children. Bruce the owner was very helpful and arranged transfers and suggested ways of getting out and about xx I fell in love with this villa and hope to return in the near future x I would recommend if you want somewhere peaceful and relaxing to chill but can visit places of interest within a short car journey. The villa is even nicer than the pictures you see on the internet , with every home comfort that you can imagine x
