Los Mimosas is a beautiful villa with lots of charm. It is built in the old rustic Cortijo style and in set in the small urbanisation of Cortijo Romero. It is set in stunning scenery with spectacular views of the mountains of the Sierra Tejeda. A short walk from the villa is the beautiful Lake Vinuel. The city of Malaga is 45 minutes away and it is just over an hours drive to the old Mooish city of Granada. The villa was designed and built 10 years by the present owners.
The villa accommodates parties of four people comfortably but there is a facility to sleep 5 by using a large pouffe that converts to a single bed. It has a well furnished lounge / dining room, two bedrooms one of which has an en-suite bathroom and a modern well equipped kitchen. The lounge and the main bedroom have patio windows which look out over the swimming pool.
The pool is 8m x 4m and is surrouded by a south facing terrace which is furnished with sun lounger's, a table and chairs and a parasol. As well as a wonderful area to relax and cool down during the day its also great fun on hot summer nights for that magical star lit midnight dip.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol region of Spain really is the coast of the sun. The summer months are known for long hot days with beautiful blue skies and warm nights that are fragrented by the tropical flowers of Spain. It has long been a popular tourist destination with coastal resorts stretching from Gibraltar in the west through Malaga to Motril in the east. The western coast line is busy and built up and the popular resorts of Marbella, Puerto Banus and Torremolinos have a very cosmopolitan atmosphere. To the east of Malaga the area is less developed and it is possible to experience the feel of the real Spain. There are many small coves and beaches to explore and the mountains with their white village house give the visitor lots to enjoy.
Lake Vinuela area
Los Mimosas is situated in the small village of La Vinuela .This lies in a mountainous region in the east of the Costa del Sol. Velez Malaga is the capital town of the region and is well worth a visit especially on market day. The nearest costal resort is Torre del Mar which is very Spanish, and if you drive east along the coast road you pass the up and comming resort of Torrox. If you feel like exploring carry on a little further to the resort of Nerja with its very narrow street and beautiful Mediterranean beaches. The spanish visit this resort on Sundays and enjoy a paella at the the beach bars. If you can tear youself away from Los Mimosas inviting pool a trip to Granada and the Alhambra palace is well worth while (may be better on the cooler days of Winter). Skiing is also available in the Winter months on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada. La Vinuela and the surrounding areas and lake provide the visitor with lots to explore but it is also an area that is peaceful and relaxation is easy to achieve. There are small bars in all the villages most serving traditional spanish tapas and local wines. It is well worth trying the local dishes you may be suprised at how good some of the traditional food is (ox-tail) delicious. If all you want is to sit by the pool and eat al-fresco then the local shops can provide you with all you need in the way of food and drink and you can soak up the sun and reflect on life in one of the most beautiful places in Spain, at least thats our opinion.
How to get there
Fly into Malaga and Las Mimosas is 30 miles from the airport, or fly into Granada which is 50 miles away. Hire a car or get a taxi to our little village of Puenta Don Manuel. There is a taxi rank at Malaga airport to meet flights at all times of day and night. Further details outdoors: A private spacious terrace next to a swimming pool with magnificent views of La Maroma a 6000ft. mountain. The terrece is furnished with a patio table and 6 chairs, sunloungers and two easy chairs and a umbrella. Part of the terrace is covered giving shade on those hot sun drenched days. There is a brick built BBQ allowing you to dine al-fresco while enjoying a glass of the local wine. The ideal place to relax and unwind.
Five minutes by car in the near by villages of Puenta Don Manuel and Vinuela, are a couple of local well stocked supermarkets, a superb butcher, a bank, chemist, doctor and dentist .
