About the home

FEATURED IN SPANISH HOMES MAGAZINE** Beautiful setting on the edge of the quiet white village of Los Romanes on the western side of Lake Viñuela.

This is our home. Converted from an old single storey Finca (rustic building) into a cosy home.Rather like the 'Tardis' in that it is larger than it looks. The interior is a mix of Spain and IKEA . It is homely and cosy and loved a lot! Many, many guests feel it to be a real 'home from home'

Private 8m x 4m swimming pool, with Roman steps and shallow ledge all the way around the edge making it safe for children. Barbecue and terraces with fantabulouso views over the Lake and the National Park of Tejada. Lighting on terraces to enjoy dining 'al fresco' at night!

Stunning views down to Lake Viñuela and across to Mount Maroma within the Tejada National Park. Our home will appeal to those of you who enjoy the countryside but don't want to feel isolated, who wish to enjoy the real Spain in the nearby local villages.

We are situated right on the edge of the village next to the village school. The school term ends in June and commences in late September. Pool open May to October.

Front bedroom looks down to the lake with fantastic views and has a white wrought iron large double bed. Has en suite shower/wc/basin. This is a lovely sunny room with early morning sunrises which will make you want to grab your camera and start taking pictures as soon as you wake up. Air Conditioning unit

The rear bedroom looks onto the pool and olive groves, and in the distance are the fabulous mountain ranges up to the Zafarrya mountain pass, this room has twin beds, and catches the evening sunsets. Air Conditioning unit.

The middle bedroom has double antique wooden French doors opening out onto the pool terrace. A lovely cosy room with double bed. Fantastic views of the countryside and mountains beyond. Air conditioning unit.

Lounge with Air conditioning (reversible to heat in winter) Wood Burning stove, two couches, coffee tables, books, DVDs etc. Satellite free to view TV/DVD/VCR player.

Further details outdoors:
Large rustic terraces on three levels to the rear of the house and also on the lakeside of the house, where you have the most spectacular, uninterupted views to Lake Viñuela and the highest peak of Mount Maroma and the mountains of the Tejeda National Park.

Poolside is edged with palm trees and the garden has olive/almond groves to three sides of the property.

There is a BBQ on the edge of the pool terrace.

Spend walm balmy nights dining al fresco - with lighting on the terrace, enjoy the most of the beautiful Andalucian summer nights - try counting the stars instead of counting the cars. The night sky out here is absolutely beautiful, and if you can be there when there is a full moon over the lake..... wow!

The terrace at the rear of the house has an 8 x 4 meter swimming pool, with 'Roman' steps into the pool and a shallow shelf all the way around the sides.

There are two wooden pergolas, an olive and fig tree for shade.

Patio furniture, including rustic tiled seating areas to the front and rear aspects. Sun loungers and cushions.

Los Romanes village school is next door to Milagrossa. The school term ends in June for three months. The school is screened off from the house by high fencing which makes the garden totally private. There are palm trees and exotic climbing plants growing up and giving tropical backdrop to the patio.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region

Mediterranean Sea - Beach closest to home is TORRES DEL MAR, you can be there within 20 minutes.
Nerja within half an hour from the house.

Miles of sundrenched beaches strung with seafood restaurants just great for a leisurely lunch at a Chiringuito restaurant with fresh barbecued Sardines and an ice cold cerveza or vino!

Great for exploring inland rural Andalusia and beautiful whitewashed villages such as COMPETA, SAYALONGA, SEDELLA and COMARES to name but a few.

The Tejeda National Park with Mount Maroma are easily accessed on the other side of the Lake. Organised walks and horse riding days out can be booked during your stay.

NERJA CAVES, FRIGILANA, GRANADA, SEVILLE AND MALAGA, EL TORCA and the FLAMINGO LAKE are all great places to visit from Milagrossa

The Lake Vinuela / Los Romanes area

Los Romanes hosts three main annual, and many smaller, festivals. The first is during the first weekend in May when a romeria, involving a 4 kilometre procession following a scenic route around the lake, takes place. Refreshments and tapas are provided free-of-charge along the way. The three-day event finishes in a picturesque spot beside the lake with camping, BBQs, picnics, beer tents, horse shows and other amusements and attractions.

In June, the next fiesta takes place around the market square when flamenco music and dancing, food and wine are freely provided.

The main town festival takes place in mid-August when again different types of music plus flamenco are performed and huge pans of paella are cooked in the streets.

There is a mini-market and bar in the village as well as four main restaurants around the village, about five minutes at most. It doesn't stop here though as there are many more within a half hour drive. However, on many nights it is great just to get some fresh fish or meat and use the BBQ by the pool as much as you can!

Mid-week flights can often offer great value, therefore our arrival dates are flexible

Granada Airport is only about 2 hours away/Seville - then take the train to Malaga.

“House lovely, views to savour, beaches easy to get to. A great holiday.” We had a great holiday and thought the house was lovely. Great views of the mountains and lake from the pool area meant we happily spent more time at the house than we had originally planned just having a totally chilled out time. The folder at the house was useful. We thought the beaches from Torrox to Nerja and beyond were the best. Favourite beach Canuelo Playa. Pebbles but plenty of marine life to see when snorkelling, and even two beach side "tavernas". Restaurants in the area meant good food was within easy reach, but most in easy reach by car. The couple looking after the house when called upon were always friendly and helpful. Canuelo Playa was their suggestion. It is a lovely area and was just spot on as far as we were concerned for a holiday

“Sheer bliss; beautiful location & owners a pleasure to deal with” Wow, stunning views, lovely finca, great company and nothing too much trouble to accomodate from the owners. We went a few years ago now but can't wait to go again. Not too far to get to the supermarket in Torre del Mar and it had EVERYTHING you'd possibly wish for. We had a 10 day stay and although love the beach, we didn't venture there because the villa was just so perfick and relaxing! The pool was gorgeous, evenings were divine, watching the sunset over the lake while eating asparagus or avacado or whatever took our fancy. The pool area had lighting so we had a few evening dips; I really can only say it was bliss! There is nothing NOT to like about this finca; book now xxx

We had the most wonderful two weeks and all we can say is ‘WOW’ at your beautiful villa and location! The views were breath taking. Dawn to dusk was just amazing and I would creep outside early some mornings to watch the sun rise! We can’t thank you both enough for opening up your holiday home to us, we truly had the most relaxing holiday and just what the family needed to recharge.

Just to let you know that the Hare’s had a great holiday and thought the house was lovely and the views great.
It is a lovely area and was just spot on as far as we were concerned for a holiday. The folder at the house was useful and we thought the beaches from Torrox to Nerja and beyond were the best. We had a lovely time at Milagrosa with permanent blue sky and lovely warmth. The house was very well and nicely furnished and very comfortable while the views were as good as we remembered. Our daughter stayed about two weeks in two tranches (camping between!) and our son for four days to recharge before sightseeing in Seville. We had a great holiday and thank you very much for allowing us to use your lovely house.

We had a lovely time at your villa, Linda´s brother and his wife use holiday lettings a lot throughout France and Italy and they thought it was the best villa that they had stayed in, hopefully we have converted them to Spain !!
