Situated in a commanding 1.3 acre hilltop position, splendid views can be seen from all around the villa. In a secluded but not isolated location, set back from a road to a quiet village, there is little to disturb the tranquillity.
The villa enjoys a large 8mx4m swimming pool, two patios, a shaded porch, and a private roof sun terrace complimented by the wonderful unspoilt scenery of the lake, mountains, vines, olive and almond groves.

Inside there are ceiling fans in the lounge and bedrooms. The large master bedroom has an en-suite, there are two further twin bedrooms plus a family bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge area has satellite TV. All bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes. Electric and gas heaters are provided.
We also provide scales so you can weigh your luggage before departing for the airport to help to avoid paying excess baggage charges!
Gas and electric heaters are provided. A 3G mobile internet connection is available in the villa for a additional cost, which will vary depending on usage; you will need to bring your own laptop PC - please enquire.

The villa has a private sun terrace with panoramic views; at the front there is a patio and a sheltered porch with table and chairs overlooking the swimming pool. There is also a patio at the rear. Parking for several cars within the gated grounds with turning area to the rear. The grounds are fully fenced.
Our swimming pool is unheated and it is common practise to cover and close down swimming pools during the cooler weather when it is not practical to swim; so please note that the swimming pool may not be available for use from November to the end of April.
Usual arrival time is 4pm, departure time 10am. Saturday is usual changeover day. However, changeover on other days may be possible for some weeks. We will try to be flexible. Please enquire for options. Discounts for early and multiple week bookings, and low occupancy.
The pool maintenance and changeover cleaning is included. English property manager and pool manager are nearby.
A deposit of 20% is payable to confirm the booking. The balance is due 10 weeks before arrival together with a security deposit of £200 which is refundable on departure less any costs to replace breakages or repair damage. Rental rates are subject to change without notice until confirmed. Please enquire about charges for the PAYG USB modem wireless internet access.
The Andalucia / Malaga Province region
If you are looking for spectacular mountain and lake scenery, consider the area of the Axarquia region of Andalucia around Lake Vinuela. This is a beautiful, safe and superbly quiet region, unspoiled by commercialism, but enjoying on average at least 8 hours of sun a day for 320 days a year. Life is at a relaxed pace here but there is always lots to do for all ages.
Nerja with its famous caves and coastline is within 30 minutes. The tourist resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola are about 1 hour away, whilst Gibraltar is about 2 hours.
The cities of Malaga, Granada with the famous Alhambra Palace, Seville and Cordoba are all feasible day trips.
The Lake Vinuela area
An extremely scenic rural area with the beautiful Lake Vinuela set against the backdrop of Mount Maroma, higher than Ben Nevis at over 2000m. The Sierra Tejeda National Park around Mount Maroma offers endless walks and wildlife.
Interesting and attractive local villages like Alcaucin, Comares and Frigiliana are whitewashed in typical andalusian style with many festivals throughout the year. There are many local restaurants in the area.
A short trip of 15 minutes by car to Torre del Mar, with its sandy Mediterranean beach, wide range of restaurants, shops and night life. The new "El Ingenio" commercial centre is located at the junction with the E15 motorway, offering a hypermarket, and a broad range of shops and restaurants. Just over the road is the water theme park.
The area offers an abundance of leisure activities, including golf, fishing, cycling, mountain-biking, walking, sailing, horse-riding, karting, aqua-park, and swimming.
For skiers, the Sierra Nevada ski resorts are about 90 minutes away.

Malaga is the nearest airport. Many airlines fly there - Easyjet, Monarch, Thomson, Ryanair, BA, Aer Lingus. Others such as Seville, Jerez and Granada are also reasonably accessible.
The villa is about 45 minutes by car - drive east from Malaga on the E15 motorway until Torre del Mar, then head north anout 8 miles to Lake Vinuela.

We have now used Ken's villa twice, the first time with friends. Lots of room, well furnished and good amenities. It contains everything needed for a self contained holiday, though there are lots of exellent restaurants in easy reach, with loads of variety.
The views are absolutely stunning, irrespective of which way you look and the pool is great, having been re-furbished only a year ago.
Torre Del Mar is an easy drive and has lots to do, or just relax at a beach side cafe and watch the world go by. Several very good golf clubs within easy reach and the main coast road is very easy to navigate and the standard of driving is good.
My wife and I would love to go back more and probably will, health permitting. Fabulous retreat.
