About the home

Casa Hombre Verde is a beautiful stone & lime washed 5 bedroom cottage. Once the first school for the area, it has been tastefully restored keeping many of it's original features: beamed ceilings, terracotta floors with cobbled mule track, original fire place. For al fresco eating there's a vine covered dining terrace within a secluded stone walled garden. A first floor veranda and roof terrace for sun bathing with spectacular lake and mountain views.

Situated in the authentic Moorish hamlet 'Aldea de Los Castillejos', This privately owned hamlet consists of 11 cottages, 7 of which are let for rural tourism and courses. you can enjoy the best of both worlds, privacy of your own house, plus, should you wish, the ability to socialize around the large communal swimming pool [12m X 5m], terraces, gardens.

We also offer Arabic/Andaluz food served in the eating room [or your house], and for groups we can fire up the village Arabic wood oven to prepare special hearth breads & pizzas. We can provide for individuals and groups; massage [western/eastern], meditation, yoga, reiki treatments, guided mountain walks. And there is always someone on hand to help with any of your needs.

The hamlet is surrounded by almond & olive groves and within a few minutes you can stroll down to the lake and restaurants. Easy access by road to airports, coast, mountains and culture.

From pedestrian street to:
large entrance/dining room (fireplace with large wood fire). Leading off to: sitting room, small double bedroom, large kitchen, bathroom.

Outside: dining terrace ( covered with grapevine), small secluded stonewalled garden.
First floor: one large double bedroom, 3 twin bedrooms, bathroom, veranda and sun terrace with beautiful lake and mountain views.

The cottage is self contained and private.
There are communal Swimming pool, terraces and gardens.
There is a small street running through the hamlet for foot and hoof, so great for children.
All cars can be parked in and around the threshing circle at the top of the hamlet.
There are many pathways [caminos] winding their way though the olive & almond gloves up into the surrounding hills and down to the lake.

As the owners live in in the hamlet there will always be an English speaking person on hand to help should you need any advice on what to do, where to go, or if you have any problems.

Welcome packs can be provided on your arrival.
Meals can be prepared for families and groups.

Clothes Washing: there is a communal wash house [Lavanderia] in the village for the guests. €3 per wash [soap inc]

The picturesque and gorgeous lake at Vinuela offers fishing, swimming, watersports and there are several golf courses along the coast.

The surrounding villages provide a tranquil retreat to enjoy the mountain views, enjoy the local Fiestas and explore the traditional restaurants.

“Perfect place for groups and nature lovers!” Well, we enjoyed our stay. It was like real old Spanish house. Owner was really helpful and such good person! Nature around the house was olso adorable.
