Nestling on a hillside with gentle views across and down the valley and the majestic backdrop of Mt Maroma this 10 year old villa is a well established home. Set in mature gardens and olive trees, surrounded by covered and open terraces there are several dining and relaxing shady areas to choose from while enjoying the peace and tranquillity, or soaking up the sun by the 9 x 4 metre pool. By the pool there is a traditional Andalucian style bar and kitchen, changing/shower room, barbecue and gazebo dining area, providing all the ingredients for living the Mediterranean life of hot days and balmy nights.
Inside the villa, there is a comfortable sitting room, satellite TV, DVD player, internet access, log fireplace and patio doors leading to the outside sitting room. Off the sitting room is a dining room for seating 8 people. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped for all culinary aspirations.
An in-house computer & printer are connected for the use of guests free of charge.
The villa is designed for easy living for either taking time out or enjoying company.

All bedrooms have reversible air conditioning units, central heating, fitted wardrobes,fans and hair-dryers. Electric shutters in bedroom 1 and 2 and manual in bedroom 3.
The spacious master suite has a super-king sized bed and if needed full size bunk beds are available which can be separated into two single beds. French doors looking out to the gardens. There is a large en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2 has a walk in shower room next to it.
Bedroom 3 and en suite is very private being in a separate self contained annexe 10 metres from the main house.
Care is taken that guests enjoy the finest cotton bedlinen.
For stays of more than a week, a change of bedlinen and or maid service can be arranged if desired.The master suite has a large bathroom en suite with bath and shower over, power shower, twin wash basins, bidet and wc.
Next to bedroom 2 is a shower room with a spacious walk in shower, wash basin and wc.
The en suite bathroom for bedroom 3 has a bath with shower and screen, wash basin and wc.
There is also a pool changing room with walk in hot & cold shower and wc.
Guests are indulged with large luxury bath towels.

As a home, the outside areas have been perfected for optimum enjoyment of the Mediterranean outdoor lifestyle set in mature landscaped gardens affording total privacy. The 9 x 4 mt heated pool with electric cover has Roman steps with sun from when it comes up over the mountain in the early morning to late in the evening, a pool bar with a fully equipped kitchen, CD/mp3 player and TV, gazebo dining area and various other dining places and terraces with sun-loungers, poolside chairs, rustic umbrellas, a lily pond and a hammock for those lazy hours under the pepper tree.
Under the covered verandah a comfortable outside sitting room with sofa and armchairs provides a perfect siesta spot. For amusement, there is a full sized petanque pitch which can be floodlit for those fun evening sessions, with patio table and chairs for between game refreshments.
Garden and pool lighting creates a romantic and magical atmosphere on those balmy, cicada chirruping evenings, soft music, a glass of wine..
A non refundable deposit of 25% of the total rental charge is required with booking. The balance is due 6 weeks before commencement of rental along with a security/breakages deposit of £250 which will be returned within 7days or earlier once the property has been checked.
The Andalucia region
In the cooler months the Axarquia is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. The Tejeda National Park is 20 mins away and there are many graded prescribed walks in the area. The more energetic can climb Mt Maroma by varying routes. The Adalucian light and the outstanding natural beauty are inspirational to artists and photographers. Just above the villa are ruins of a Phonecian castle, with amazing views which go on for ever.
Sunset there is a special experience. Locally there is horse riding, water sports, an aqua park for children and those childish adults. 3km from Nerja are fascinating caves, the Cuevas de Nerja at Maro, dating back 5 million years with stalagmites and stalactites and Palaeolithic wall paintings and a museum. Every summer there is a festival of music and dance held in the caverns. The old town of Málaga is a charming place to explore with the Cathedral, the Picasso museum and the Alcazaba, an 8th century Moorish fortification. Dotted on the hillsides the pueblo blancos, white villages, are there to discover, giving a feel of the local history and its people.
There are plenty of restaurants and tapas bars in the near vicinity from local Spanish establishments to the 4 Star Hotel Viñuela. We can give you information on where to eat, where to go and what to do so you can get the very best from your visit.

"Still THE best..... ever!"
My partner and I have just had the most wonderful holiday at Ray and Coraline's villa. This is undoubtedly the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled extensively. The villa is a home away from home, the facilities can not be faulted. There are 2 fully equipped kitchens, one in the villa and one in the bar. The pool is amazing, clean and well heated as we stayed in winter we didn't expect to be able to use it, but we had days of 24 degrees and sunshine. The gardens are magnificent and make the villa very private should you disrobe to swim! The beds were very comfortable and the linen and soft furnishings are exquisite. The bathrooms are spotless and equipped with soft clean towels and rose scented hand wash. There is an enormous TV in the lounge and a smaller TV in the kitchen with English television channels available, should you need to catch up with your favorite show, or football team while you are away. The WiFi signal is strong in all areas of the property. The bar is fully stocked, open all hours, and is a perfect place to have a wee dram or a BBQ by the pool. With the beautiful lake and small town close by with shops and restaurants this is the perfect place to have a holiday at any time of the year. The villa has a very homely feel to it, a tribute to the owners. My only issue is that we couldn't stay any longer. We will definitely be back!

"Nice villa, privacy not as expected"
Nice villa, well presented and furnished. Many furnishings very dirty, sofa covers needed washing, bath mats smelly. Floors needed a good scrub. Pool very good and well heated. Gardens beautiful and well tended.beds clean and comfortable.

"Still the best"

"The Villas that has it all"
We have stayed in many villas over the last 7 years but this villa was by far the best equipped with cutlery, delph and glasses etc. You have two full kitchens at your disposal. The house is well laid out.
We enjoyed snacking/drinking and watching TV/DVDs late at night in the open air at the pool bar.
We became very fond of steaks from the local butchers and there was a wonderful hot plate for cooking them on! The children loved the pool and they also loved searching for lizards and chameleons. We also had great fun playing bowles.
There is a local gym about a 10 minute walk away called Molina Sports and you can join for €15 for a single week (€30 for a month & €10 registration)
We had good fun when we rented kayaks on lake vinuela (beside Hotel Lake Vinuela). Fees charged were €15 for 1 hour in a double canoe. The people running the kayak hire were really friendly and we returned a second time.
A short drive from the villa there are a few local shops run by English people and stocked with English food. There are a number of restaurants here also and English and Spanish food is available. There is also a nice bakery but it was hit and miss as to what the stock levels would be. Unfortunately, the village was just a little too far to walk to.
We would recommend a visit to the caves in Nerja, they were lovely.
We all had a great holiday and can't wait to return.

"Peace and Quiet"
My wife and I and along with 4 friends spent a very enjoyable and relaxing time in Ray and Caroline's lovely villa. The outside facilities were fantastic for socialising and eating and we rarely used the villa except for sleeping! We paid entra for the pool to be heated and it was worth ever penny as the temperature was maintained at 29oC. The villa is set in a nice sized secluded plot which was very quiet and peaceful. The outside bar was fantastic for the occasionaly break from the sun and to re-hydrate!

Fantastic villa to stay at! Absolutely love it. Have been twice and intend to go again. increasing the length of time so that we can have friends stay as well as family.

"This has to be the best"
In 0ver 30 years of travelling in Europe to many countries, staying in hotels, apartments and villas, Los Esperones is truly and quiet simply the best! Why? Because from the moment that the owners meet you there is an immediate feeling that you are 'home'. The villa is exceptionally furnished and cared for to make your holiday special - no detail is overlooked and if there is anything you need Ray and Caroline are there to help - friendly, welcoming, charming, and fabulous company. We stayed for two glorious weeks in August when the sky was azure blue every day and the sun unrelenting. The pool is magnificent and we used it constantly. Then a few steps across to the bar to perch on a stool while my daughter poured me a beer. Barbeques a-plenty we had with the most wonderful produce from the local town of Puente. And those long evenings looking at the stars or listening to the music and fireworks from the village Fiesta. It was indeed a priviledge to stay here and I have already booked our return visit in 2012. To finish I will leave with that old cliche: 'Book early to avoid disappointment!'
