Our aim is to provide a restful holiday environment for our visitors. We live on-site so should there be any problems or questions we are always on hand. We can suggest places to visit so that you make the most of your holiday in the Axarquia area of Malaga. Tesorillo,our newly renovated farmhouse, is perfect for those who like quiet, getaway from it all holidays.
An above ground plunge pool (4.6m diameter x 1m deep) available from April. There is also a village swimming pool about a 4 minute walk away from the house.
We are 5 minutes from the village, where there are a couple of Spanish bars, a restaurant an Indian restaurant about 8 minutes away by car, and two small village shops. The nearest large supermarket is in Velez Malaga, approximately 20 minutes away.
The Farmhouse is perfect for an 'away from it all holiday', and we are sure you will agree and want to come back time and time again. The area is very popular with walkers, golfers, and cyclists. Torre Del Mar beach, and the fishing port of Caleta are only 20/25 minutes away, and for the days you just HAVE to go shopping there is a large shopping centre about 20 minutes away.
There are Spanish markets and farmers markets on most days in the surrounding villages. There are many typical Spanish white villages nearby. We are certain you will not be bored!

The two spacious bedrooms, one double one twin (or possible to change twin to a double), are furnished for a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Both have built-in wardrobes, and wet rooms, so no problems with getting in and out of showers or baths!
Towels for indoor use only - Pool Towels available for hire at 5 euros a week each.
The comfortable sofa-bed will sleep two CHILDREN up to the age of about 10 years old. There are ceiling fans, oil-filled radiators and wall heaters, should they be necessary.
(If cots/high chairs or other baby equipment are required these can be pre-booked at a nominal charge as they are obtained from a reputable source locally.)
There is English freeview tv and we also have WIFI connection. A CD player and a selection of music is also provided for your use, together with a dvd player and dvd's. There are also cards, board games.
The kitchen has a full cooker and hob, fridge with ice-box, and everything else you may need for your self-catering holiday - but should we not have something you require - please ask. We live on-site so if there are any problems these can be easily rectified.

PLUNGE POOL!!! (4.6m x 1m) end April - end October (weather permitting). Outside there is the garden where the pool is situated, and a chilling out area for sunbathing, with a shade giving Pagoda. You have a private terrace, which is sunny most of the day, (although there is shade from the lemon and plum trees - please help yourselves!!), together with a table and chairs for alfresco dining, or just enjoying the last of the days rays with a glass of vino or two!. If you require a paddling pool for the children, please ask.
Your hire car can be parked on the gated driveway. For a change of scene the brand new village swimming pool is about a 4 minute walk away a fantastic place to meet the locals and have a chat.
**** PLEASE NOTE: PLUNGE POOL END APRIL TO END OCTOBER**** (weather permitting). The Pool area is up 9 steps.
* There are some small steps down to the bedrooms, which are approximately 6 inches in height.
* A welcome pack can be supplied if requested at cost, to include bread, butter, jam, juice, milk, eggs and wine/beer. If anything extra is required (i.e. nappies, baby food) please request it when confirming booking. These will be at cost.
The Andalucia region
Come and visit the OTHER side of Spain. The region of Malaga is diverse, with mountains, sea and lakes. There are many walks in the National Park, Monte de Malaga, which is approximately 30 mins drive away. The whitewashed village of Comares (30km) is visable from the house, and is a lovely place to visit as it is mainly pedestrian. It is the highest village in Andalucia.
El Torcal, is a mountain range that has been erroded by the weather. It was once under sea level. It is about 45-60 minutes from the farmhouse and has been likened to the grand canyon - there is a visitor centre with lots of information, and on Saturday evenings in the Summer you can visit the telescope and see what is in the night skies.... a fantastic day out. Take a picnic - there are lots of places to stop on-route and on site, to take in the spectacular views.
The Caves at Nerja, (41KM) on the Eastern side, are also a good place to visit, and is well signposted from the Autovia. Ladies be warned - wear flat shoes!
Why not visit a Wolf Park, there is one near Antequera approximately 1 1/4 hr away, (64 KM). They live in a natural habitat and there are 4 different species you can see. They are not domesticated but are socialised, there is a tour you can go on with the owner round the various areas they live.
Malaga is approximately one hour away (49KM) but we would suggest catching the bus from Torre del Mar (24KM), as parking is bad in the City. There is a castle, port and a very good shopping centre, with plenty of places to stop for a drink and tapas.
The cities of Seville (225KM) 2 1/2 hours and Granada (106KM) 1 1/2 hour drive. Gibraltar is also a nice day out and is about 2 1/2 hours away.
From Torre del Mar you can get the bus into most of the local towns. There are many beaches in the area, with the best ones being in Torre del Mar and Nerja (Burriana).

Tesorillo is ideally located for a quiet family get away from it all break, as well as bird watchers, walkers and bikers, with many tracks criss-crossing the area. Also it is lovely to relax after a hard day on the beach, in peace and quiet. As well as our own pool, we have a brand new village swimming pool, about 4 minute walk away.
Comares (30KM) is approximately 1 hour away, through the lovely countryside, can be seen from the house.This is the highest white village in Andalucia, and well worth a visit. The village itself is pedestrian, but the car park is free.
Marbella (112 KM) is about 1 1/2 hours drive away, and is a lovely place to 'people watch', tho be warned there are pickpockets there.
There are many fine restaurants/bars within a 15 minute drive, and one within a 5 minute walk. There is an excellent Indian Restaurant the other side of Los Romanes, (8 minute drive) which gets fantastic reviews. Between May and September there are lots of fiestas around the local villages (any excuse for a party!) and you may come across one during your stay. Definitely not to be missed! The Spanish have 26 Bank Holidays so they have the right idea we think!
You can fish at certain times of the year on Lake Vinuela but a license has to be obtained from the local town hall.
Velez Malaga, (17KM) is a working town, with a castle, and many churches to visit and is approximately 20 minutes away. There is also a great water park there open during the Summer. Wonderful fun for the kids!
Sea Life is another good day out, it is in Benalmadena, (82KM) about 1 1/4 hours away - we have some discount vouchers should you decide to visit there, please ask for one.

Lovely accommodation and setting - a perfect base to explore the surrounding country. We walked the short distance to the village most days - either to one of the small supermarkets or the bar/s or t… More

"Sun and relaxation"
We had a great time at Tesorillo, Carol and Gordon were friendly and helpful and the house exactly met our needs.
We are not beach fans but we found lots to do in the area on the days that we went out. On the days we stayed at home we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool and relaxed reading a book under the lemon tree.
Great location for a quiet relaxing holiday.
It was lovely to meet you all, and so happy you enjoyed your holiday. We hope to see you again in 2014. Regards Carol and Gordon

"wonderfully scenic and relaxing"
We found the property very easily thanks to the clear instructions emailed to us. We knew it was going to be a great location but it still took our breath away when we arrived! The apartment was spotlessly clean and we settled in very quickly. Good selection of maps and a useful folder full of local information. The village has a number of small shops that sell everything you'll need and restaurants and bars are there for you if you can drag yourself away from the sun soaked garden. The apartment and garden are really quiet and the ideal spot if you are looking for an antidote to a busy, bustling lifestyle back home.
Glad you all had a great time, and found the apartment so well equipped. So pleased to meet you, and hope to see you again soon - maybe for a little longer next time? - and maybe a longer ride out with S and G?? Sun is still out!! You know where we are. C and G

"Excellent hosts in a lovely peaceful location"
We arrived after a long drive from England to find this lovely furnished, clean and fully equipped apartment, comprising of one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, a lounge and kitchen. We had our own terrace overlooking the wonderful Andalusian landscape and the use of a large garden, terrace and pool. We sat most mornings (and evenings) in peaceful surroundings under a beautiful lemon tree. Carol and Gordon were excellent hosts and we would have no hesitation in returning.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both, you know where we are when you are looking for your autumn break. Glad you had such a relaxing stay.

"We had it all great accommodation,Hosts,and Sunshine."
For a relaxing break in a typical Spanish village,with wine and terrific weather(oh so lucky) this is a lovely quiet location , We hired a car at Malaga airport, and followed the sat nav through mountain scenery arriving 35 mins later at Los Romanes to be met by the hosts Carol and Gordon who welcomed us. The accommodation is well equipped the kitchen has every thing you need, both double rooms are en suite and the tv lounge area is spacious
The views are splendid and unspoilt,the driving around the area was easy with the local beach 20 mins away , would we return YES. Great for walking away from the crowds who head for the beachside although in Feb it was Quiet. Thanks Carol and Gordon.
It was wonderful to meet you both, we look forward to seeing you again very soon.
