Casa 23 boasts magnificent uninterrupted views across the valley of Lake Vinuela to Mount Maroma. It is stepped into the hillside on the outskirts of the typical Spanish village of Los Romanes. Casa 23 is a whitewashed villa with private pool with shallow steps into the pool. The many large terraces and garden offer choice and space! Lake Vinuela offers water sports, sailing, kayaking and fishing. There are many splendid walks around the lake and in spring the wild flowers are bountiful.
The villa is well equipped with modern appliances. It is ideal for holiday makers who want to taste the 'real' Spain. Situated in the Axarquia region of Andalucia the villa offers a good base to explore. Within a short drive of the beach resorts of Nerja and Torre del Mar, a little longer drive about 1hours 30mins and you can reach Granada with the famous Alhambra palace.

The spacious living /dining room opens via patio doors to the spacious terrace with magnificent views across the lake and beyond to Mount Maroma. For the cooler months there is a logburning fire with some logs provided.
All bedrooms have ceiling fans. There are a number of free standing fans for the hotter months.
The master bedroom opens to a terrace via patio doors again with the same outstanding views.
The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. I have tried to provide a home from home with equipment that I would want from liquidiser to garlic crusher I think you will find everything to make cooking a joy!

There are many terraces at Casa 23 offering variety and space.
All terraces have magnificent views overlooking Lake Vinuela and Mount Maroma.
The main terrace has a partially shaded area with integral BBQ.
There are sun loungers and outside furniture.
The villa is situated off the main road on a small cul de sac with ample off the road parking.
The private 8 x 4 swimming pool is accessed from the bedroom terrace down a gated flight of steps. It is a graduated pool 1 metre at the shallow end to appx 2metres at the deep end.

We provide a welcome pack of essential food basics, which can be tailored to suit your needs.
Our English speaking representatives can meet you at the villa if so desired but will carry an extra cost depending on your time of arrival. They are also on hand as an emergency contact.
We can offer Wi fi Internet access arranged locally with our representative at an extra cost of 15euros per week.
The pool is available all year round but is unheated.
Strictly no smoking except on the terraces.
Breakages deposit of £200, to be refunded within two weeks of your return (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
25% of rental fee due on booking and the full amount plus breakages deposit due 4 weeks before your stay.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region
Costa del Sol is mainly known for the resorts on the coasts, with their English bars and nightlife. However, the Costa del Sol / Andalucia has much more to offer www.andalucia.com. The true Spain lies a few miles inland away from the hustle and bustle. In Axarquia, in particular, the culture of Spain is still alive and many traditional fiestas take place in the many white washed villages that abound in this area.
A trip to Malaga city with the new art museums such as Picasso museum www.museopicassomalaga.org, the Thyssen Museum and Revello de Toro should not be missed for any art lover (45min drive on the autovia or take the bus from Torre del Mar along the coast road). Malaga has a new 'port zone' with good shopping arcades and bars where one can sit and watch the sun go down with the backdrop of the city.
The city of Granada is only a 2hour drive with the famous Alhambra Palace www.alhambradegranada.org and of course the Sierra Nevadas are only a short drive away too.
If beaches are your need then the Spanish town of Torre del Mar offers this, together with a Water Park, Shopping Mall with Bowling Alley and Cinema that show films in English. A 20 min drive takes you to Nerja with its white sandy beaches and the famous 'Caves of Nerja'. Concerts are sometimes held in the actual caves! www.nerja.com
Two golf courses, Baviera www.bavieragolf.com and Anoreta www.anoretagolf.es are within a short drive 15mins and 20mins away respectively.
The Lake Vinuela / Los Romanes area
Los Romanes is a typical Spanish village and is famous for its olives and the local olive press provides some of the best olive oil in the region.
The local goat herder often 'walks' his goats down the hillside and it is always a fantastic sight, the age old traditions are still alive and well.
The village has a small shop supplying your basic needs, a bar and a restaurant which is a 3min walk from the villa. Three further restaurants are within a 5min drive; 2 of which are situated on the lakeside. There are further shops about a 5mins drive in the village of Puente don Manuel. However the hypermarket is in Torre del Mar about 15mins drive.
Lake Vinuela is a reservoir providing drinking water to the Malaga area. The lake provides a variety of activities; sailing, canoeing, fishing together with fine walks and off the road cycling. Power craft are not allowed on the lake therefore creating a tranquil place. Sailing dinghies and canoes can be hired from the sailing club just past The Vinuela Hotel 5min drive.
The famous whitewashed villages of the area provide fantastic day trips; Comares, perched precariously on the top of a mountain, is a must see experience, and provides the best sunset pictures offering a 360degree perspective of the area.
There are many 'routes' in this region; The route of the Grape, The route of the Olive The route of the Raisin - all available within a short drive of the villa. Many local fiestas take place during the year and one would be unfortunate to miss one in any of the villages. Sample the local delights and take home the true memories of Spain.
Andalucia is not just for summer...during the cooler months of October to March why not enjoy the sunny days of winter averaging 17degrees centigrade. The cities of Granada, Cordoba and Seville, are all within a couple of hours drive from the villa. Malaga is of course a city that is often missed on the tourist map and is well worth a visit. only a 40min drive.
There is still an enormous wealth of attractions to enjoy out of season when there is less traffic and more importantly its CHEAPER!

Fly to Malaga airport. - Casa 23 is located approximately 50mins from airport (46miles / 70km).
Malaga airport is regularly served by many budget airlines. EasyJet, Ryanair, Monarch etc from many local airports.
Car Hire is essential.
The drive to the villa is on good roads the main autovia from Malaga to Nerja, then a short drive on good roads to the village of Los Romanes which is approximately 15mins from the exit off the autovia.

I loved the peaceful setting, the stunning views which as an artist I appreciated and never tired of sketching. I was great being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist spots. Although it is within easy access of the coast, Malaga city and Granada for a day trip out. The owner has thought of everything. The pool was delightful and the many terraces give you choice of space.

The view is terrific! we have visited on at least 3 occasions! Pool steps have improved getting in to the cold water which is lovely once you are in, and very clean.
