Traditional 3-bedroom Lakeland cottage near Keswick. This cottage has been lovingly restored. Situated 1 mile from the beautiful shores of Ullswater in the pretty village of Dockray with views of fells and fantastic walking from the door. The mountain ranges of Helvellyn, Blencathra and High Street are near by. The cottage has a peaceful location, private gardens and lots of wildlife on the doorstep including red squirrels, woodpeckers and many other birds.
The cottage is situated in the pretty village of Dockray located just north of Glenridding. This is a good base for exploring the Lake District National Park with the market town of Keswick only 15 minutes drive away.
From the village of Dockray you can enjoy lots of walks including the National Trust's Aira Force, and Gowbarrow- famous for its daffodils that inspired the poet William Wordsworth. Close by is village of Glenridding with sailing club, hotels, pubs, shops and the lake steamer.
The cottage is very comfortable with oil-fired central heating from the Rayburn range in the kitchen. It has a wood burning stove in the living room and heated towel rails in the kitchen and bathroom.
In the living room there is a window seat overlooking the garden and in the main bedroom the window seat overlooks gardens and has fell views. The cottage would suit up to four people having a king-sized main bedroom and two further separate single bedded rooms with countryside and garden views. The cottage has BT broadband so wi-fi is available.
Outside there is a summerhouse with a range of garden furniture, a secure bike shed, a potting shed/log store and two good sized gardens.
The nearest pub 'The Royal Hotel' is 50 metres away, a good friendly bar serving real ales and serving a variety of local foods.
The cottage has a free view TV and DVD player in the living room and CD player with Ipod docking station.
All electric, oil is provided as well as high quality white cotton laundered bed linen. 1 basket of logs for the wood burner will be provided.
This is a lovely clean and tidy cottage with an unfussy fresh feel with new furniture, beds and bedding.

Unfortunately the cottage is not really suitable for people with restricted mobility due to the bedrooms being upstairs with slightly narrow cottage stairs.

The outdoor activity centre at Glenridding and the great tourist attraction of Rheged is within easy reach as is the ever popular fells of Helvellyn and High Street.,Place fell and Gowbarrow Fell is just to the west of the village and is famous for its daffodils, which inspired Dorothy Wordsworth whose brother William wrote about them.
