The Cornflowers is set in the peaceful hamlet of L'Oulerie and is surrounded by fields and countryside, yet is only a 20 minute drive to the lovely beaches of the Southern Vendée. An ideal holiday home for two families sharing or a large family gathering.
The house has been tastefully renovated and now offers spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests in four good sized bedrooms. There is a private garden with sunny terrace, BBQ area and 10m x 4m heated pool.

The house has been tastefully renovated, with many exposed stone walls and wooden beams. The large living room has leather sofas, TV (UK & French channels), DVD player & films, Wii & several games, and a log burner for the cooler winter months. There are lots of books for holiday reading and several board games for your use.
Internet access is provided via an access point for guests who want to pick up emails or surf the internet.
The living room and kitchen are separated by a long breakfast bar and the dining area can seat 8 around the dining table. The kitchen has recently been installed,and is equipped with all mod-cons. (dishwasher, wine fridge, microwave, fridge, 5 burner gas hob and double oven.) There is a separate utility area with washing machine and second fridge/freezer.
The family bathroom is on the ground floor and has a full-sized bath, overhead shower, hand basin and separate WC.
Upstairs, there are 4 good sized bedrooms - two with doubl beds, one with a set of bunk beds and a fourth with two single beds. All have bedside tables and storage areas. The shower room is located on the first floor and there is separate WC here as well.
There are radiators in all rooms for the winter months.
All bed linens and towels (hand, bath and tea towels) are provided, but please bring your own pool/beach towels and cot bedding.
A cot, highchair and plastic utensils are available for younger children.

The garden is completely private, with no overlooking neighbours and is surrounded by high hedges. In front of the house is a covered veranda area, with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. A built in BBQ is nearby for your use.
The garden is laid to lawns and flower beds and the pool is located at the far side of the garden. The pool is 10m x 4m and is heated from Easter until the end of September.
The house is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac and is bordered with open fields and pastures.

Conditions
- Smoking is not allowed in the house, but is allowed in the al fresco dining area.
- Refundable breakages deposit of £100/€130 required and will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
- 30% of rental fee is due on booking to secure your stay.
- Remaining 70% is payable 8 weeks prior to your stay.
- Payments are accepted in Euros and Sterling, by cheque or direct bank transfer.

The Vendée is well-known for being the second sunniest region of France and there are miles of excellent beaches from as little as 20 minutes away from this holiday home.
Our hamlet of L'Oulerie is the ideal base for walking or cycling holidays and the countryside is a bird watchers paradise!
There are also 5 golf courses in the area and for a more tranquil day out - Le Marais Poitevin is only 60 minutes away where you can hire boats and take a leisurely row along the many canals.
The Lairoux / L'Oulerie area
L'Oulerie is a small hamlet set in the beautiful Vendée countryside.
Luçon is only 10 minutes away and makes a nice day out with a visit to the 600 year old cathedral or a saunter around the Jardin Dumaine. Here you will find many shops, bars, restaurants and a weekly market.
The area is full of tourist attractions - such as the Indian Forest Adventure park, the car museum, the old port at La Rochelle or the many ruined castles and abbeys watching over the medieval towns.
The main attractions in the Vendee are the fantastic beaches - some for surfing, body boarding, rock pooling or just relaxing!
The surrounding countryside is great to explore and there are many guided walks around the area - stopping off in many of the picturesque little villages for a coffee or beer - many having weekly markets and brocante or antiques fairs at the weekends.
For a more active holiday, there are many watersports available at La Tranche or Les Sables D'Olonne including surfing, sand kiting, diving and jet skiing.
We are also within a 60 minute drive of the Puy de Fou and Futuroscope Theme Parks

The Cornflowers holiday home is only 40 minutes from the airport at La Rochelle and 70 minutes from Nantes airport. Both airports are served by several budget airlines, such as Ryanair, EasyJet, Jet2 and FlyBe. Car hire is available from both airports.
For guests who wish to bring their own cars, the northern ferry ports of France are as little as 3 hours away from the village of Lairoux in the Vendée. St Malo is 3 hours away, Caen is 4 hours drive, Cherbourg is 5 hours drive and the port and Euro Tunnel at Calais are 6.5 hours away. (All times are approximate, and do not allow for stopping off). A discount code can be offered for guests using Brittany Ferries via Portsmouth to France.
