Villa Lairoux is located on the edge of the peaceful village of Lairoux and can accommodate up to 8 guests. There is a good sized garden, with a large patio area and swimming pool - ideal for those hot summer days!
The villa has an open plan living and dining area and can comfortably seat everyone. The dining table even converts into a snooker table for your amusement! There is a log burning stove for the winter evenings and a TV, DVD player, stereo and lots of books and boardgames.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a further small dining table and chairs.
There are two bedrooms (one double & one twin) on the ground floor, both with plenty of wardrobe space. There is a bathroom, a shower room and a separate WC also on the ground floor, so the villa would be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
There are two further bedrooms on the first floor - again, one double and one twin bedroom.

There is a safe, enclosed garden with a large patio area and oval swimming pool. There is also an al fresco dining area, with table & chairs and built in barbecue. The garden is flat and laid mainly to lawn, with tall hedges all around, giving a good level of privacy.
The swimming pool is set on a raised tiled area and there are lots of inflatable toys to play with.
There is also an covered play area with a ping pong table.
There is a large parking area in front of the villa - with enough space for up to 4 cars.
- Well-behaved dogs are allowed but sorry, no cats.
- Smoking is only permitted on the patio or in the garden.
- Refundable breakages deposit of £200 is required with final payment, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
- 30% deposit is required to secure the reservation.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
The Vendee is famous for its miles of lovely sandy beaches. There is such a wide variety to choose from - La Terriere & Les Conches for surfing & bodyboarding, La Tranche for family entertainment and La Faute sur Mer for sandcastles & picnics, and not forgetting the rockpools at St Vincent & Jard sur Mer!
The region comes to life in the summer months, with many local markets and festivals in the surrounding towns & villages, along with a great programme of entertainment in the seaside resorts. The weather is usually hot in July & August, but is just as warm in June & September if you would prefer to avoid the crowds!
In Autumn, winter and early spring the area is great for walking and cycling holidays - there are lots of places to spot the local wildlife and migratory birds.
The Lairoux area
Lairoux is close to the town of Luçon, with its historic cathedral and bustling weekly market. In the summer, there are many organised events here - such as open air concerts, musical evenings in the town centre and huge street markets and travelling fairgrounds.
Lairoux has its own bar within walking distance and food is served during the daytime.
The seaside towns of La Faute & La Tranche have entertainment most evenings - with concerts, fairs, the circus and beach sports events.
Every weekend in spring & summer there is a wide selection of village markets, selling local produce - foods, wines, gifts and artwork. There are also lots of flea markets and car boot sales to rummage through.

Villa Lairoux is located in the southern Vendee and is only a 20 minute drive from Junction 6 (Chantonnay) of the A83 Motorway.
The closest ferry port is St Malo which is only a 3.5 hour drive; alternatively herbourg is 5 hours away and Calais is 7.5 hours away.
The area is served by two airports - Nantes is 1 hour away and La Rochelle is only 40 minutes away. Both have flights from Budget Airlines such as RyanAir, Easyjet and Jet 2. Car hire is available at both airports.

This villa is a gem. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and tidy, the rooms were spacious and it has all the amenities you could wish for.
The pool was large, clean and wonderful for jumping into when the temperature rocketed to 35 degrees!
The holiday was so relaxing we did very little else except sit and enjoy the peace.
I wouldn't hesitate to book this villa again.

On arrival we were disappointed about the house as it was not clean at all. We removed about 20 spiders and one of the bedrooms was useless – because of ants (hundreds) invading the beds. We cleaned the house and called for assistance regarding the ants - and the pool which was not suitable for human bathing…
The ants was removed the next day and after three days we where able to use the pool. But unfortunately we had no hot water for 24 hours and for the last four days – there where only hot water in one of the bathrooms. We stayed 2 families in the house so it was a bit of a problem.
The owner, and his assistant worked hard to get the house back to “normal” – but for a one week stay – it was not time to fix all the problems regarding the house which could be nice, if it was better looked after. The area is nice and you have the sandy beaches just 20 minutes away.
We are sorry that these guests did not enjoy staying here. As soon as we were made aware of the problems in the house, we started to sort them out - the previous guests had turned the hot water tanks off, the bedroom was cleaned and sprayed with ant powder and the pool was sorted. We were not made aware of the later hot water problem, and no other guests have since pointed this out to us, so I'm not sure what happened with that??
