This traditional stone house has been restored to a high standard but retains many of its original features and provides ideal accommodation for either two families or 6 adults with open views across the Aveyron/Viaur valley from each bedroom. The ground floor consists of an open plan kitchen,diniing and living room plus TV lounge with double sofabed, there is also a separate shower room and toilet. The first floor has 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom with walk-in shower. The tiered garden has a patio area for ouside dining, with a gas BBQ, and a private pool with sun loungers giving views over Laguepie.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn-et-Garonne region
The Aveyron region is renowned for its deep gorges,forest covered hills and medieval bastide villages perched on rocky outcrops. The Gaillac and Quercy wine regions are close by and most daily markets have wine stalls with degustation as well as many domains to visit. Carcassonne and its castle, Montauban & Toulouse are larger towns within 2 hours drive and also the famous Millau bridge.
Laguepie area
Laguepie is a lively market town famous for its chestnut festival and is situated between the picturesque bastide towns of Cordes sur Ciel, Najac and St. Antonin Noble Val. Within easy reach are 10 villages classified as amongst the most beautiful in France,as well as the city of Albi with its imposing red brick cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec museum. Local activities include walking,horse riding,cycling,canoeing,lake and river swimming,fishing,tennis and golf. The lake at Monasties [15 mins drive] has a beach, picnic tables and boating. Canoeing is available at St Antonin Noble Val [20 mins] with the scenic background of the Aveyron gorges. There is also a large leisure centre near Carmaux [ 20 mins] with many sports facilities. The golf course at Albi, 30 mins drive, is superb with views over the river Tarn and the Cathedral in the distance. The local train [2 mins walk] can be taken to Villefranche for the Thursday market or even to Gaillac or Toulouse.

Further details outdoors: The garden is terraced,the lower one for outdoor dining with gas BBQ,the second terrace has private fenced pool with ample decking area for the poolside furniture. All the five terraces [one suitable for boules] have superb views over the town and river towards the chateau. The house is situated at the top of a steep lane and cars can be parked outside the gates.

Swimming pool only in use from May to October. There is a book provided giving details of local restaurants and places of interest. An English speaking caretaker can be contacted in case of any problems.
Conditions
Deposit of 200 pounds per week required on booking. Balance payable 8 weeks before arrival together with returnable security deposit of 200 pounds.
