Chapter One is a quiet and peaceful house located just a 10 minutes drive from the ever-popular village of Lagrasse and 20 minutes from the historical 'Le Cite' at Carcassonne.
The house benefits from its own private swimming pool, installed with children in mind. Outside is also furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco and take advantage of the stunning sceanery of vineyards and mountains. With two double bedrooms and one bedroom with two sets of bunk-beds, the house is ideal for families and small groups. To cater for cooler evenings during autumn and winter there is an extensive video library in the house.
The surrounding area offers all-season activities incuding; fishing, shooting and skiing (within 90 minutes drive).

This house easily accommodates two families - there are two double bedrooms and a family room with two bunk-beds (therefore sleeping four), additional sleeping on a doule futon and a T.V. with inegrated DVD player to entertain the little ones.
Spread over three floors, the decor is simple and tasteful throughout with incredible countryside views from all rooms. The kitchen has an electrc oven, dishwasher and fridge and there is an additional fridge, perhaps for beer and wine, in the utility room with the washing machine.
The lounge has large comfortable leather sofas, a log burner for winter evenings and a T.V. with Video and DVD Players.

Outside the private garden benefits from a large alfresco area with a BBQ and a heated swimming pool. This is a small village with a daily delivery of fresh bread and pastries right outside the door. The perfect place to relax and chill out to recharge your batteries.
There is no need to cook, unless you want to try your purchases from the local markets, as the local restaurants serve a wide selection of fresh food. And there are multiple vineyards in the surrounding area offering the opportunity to try before you buy and learn a little about French wine and culture.

The Languedoc-Roussillion region offers a real french France experience. It is a relaxing and spectacular area of the sun-drenched south, there are wonderful quaint villages often hosting local fetes and surrounded by vineyards offering wine tasting opportunities, all this whilst being close to excellent long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean..
The area is rich in French culture, also known as the Le Midi, there are beautiful walks and cycle rides to enjoy among this peaceful area of the country. It offers a great sweep of plains and vine-clad hills dotted with remote Cathar castles converging on one of the greatest sights of all France; La Cite of Carcassonne.
The Lagrasse / Taurize area
The proberty is located in the small village of Taurize, 10 minutes from Lagrasse and 30 minutes south of Carcassonne. The bread van calls every morning to the village and there is a wonderful grocery store in neighboring village, Servies (2 minutes).
Lagrasse is a lovely town with magnificent Abbey and excellent restaurants - as well as the opportunity to admire and purchase local paintings and potteries.
Carcassone is a breath-taking fortified city with many year round activities and cultural events for the family to enjoy, along with the multitude of resaurants and a beautiful golf course - for those interested.
Mediterranean beaches within 50 minutes of the house (Peyriac de Mer) which stretch from Montpellier down to the Spanish border. Wonderful sandy beaches with tasteful entertainments and beachfront restaurants and cafes. The 'Etang de L'Ayrolle' offers some of the best windsurfing in Europe.
Wine tasting opportunities are everywhere with numerous private caves and roadside vendors. Beautiful vineyards (Corbieres, Minervois and Fitou) and impressive valleys and rivers. It is worth a special visit to Limoux - for its famous sparkling wine.
Don't miss the Canal du Midi for walking and cycling. Lake swimming and rafting just north of Carcassonne. Fantastic and spectacular scenery along the Cote Vermaille and the loverly beach resort and harbour at Collioure and Banyuls.
There are historical Cathar trails and castles throughout the region, a large wildlife park at Sigean, 'AquaLand' water park in the chic resort of Cap d'Agde and don't forget Andorra for duty-free shopping.
