Lagrasse is designated one of France's most beautiful villages and is perfectly situated for all manner of beautiful walks: river and gorge, vines and olives, garigue and forest, mountain and valley. With 3 bars, fine epicerie, boulangerie, galleries, craft workshops, six restaurants and wine galore, there is little need to venture elsewhere. However, with it's proximity to the autoroute, the beaches of the Med, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan, Montpellier and the Camargue are in easy reach - even Barcelona is only 3 hours away. Take the twisty roads through the glorious gorges of the Corbières and the astonishing Cathar castles are on the doorstep
The river is dammed in the summer to provide exquisite swimming, is bordered by the Abbey and the medieval waterfront and is crossed by 2 bridges one a fine Roman bridge.
My house is in the centre of Lagrasse, a former hotel - 3 double rooms available for rental with shared bathroom and kitchenette: fridge, grill, electric hot-plates, 2 dining tables, 2 wc.The rooms are situated on first floor, keys provided for all 3 rooms so visitors can come & go as they please.
Nearest airport is in Carcassonne : 40 mins, then Béziers/Perpignan : 55 mins or Montpellier/Toulouse 1hr 30 minutes.

"This Works well for Me!"
We arrived in Lagrasse a little later than we expected. We were just dawdling and enjoying the drive, and the road takes time to drive as it winds from vinyards into the town. The feel of the area is… More

"Feels like home"

"Stay in the heart of Lagrasse without breaking the bank"
Spacious comfortable rooms in a chilled atmosphere, right in the village centre. Ideal for checking out the really lovely 'little carcassonne' that Lagrasse is. Great dog walks also beside the river, which is dammed in the summer for swimming apparently.

"A wonderful relaxing holiday with friendly hospitality at very reasonable rates."
My husband and myself had a very enjoyable holiday in Lagrasse mainly due to the friendliness and helpfulness of mine host Shona. We had a charming room that was excellent value, as facilities were available whereby we could cook for ourselves we did not need to eat out all the time. So much information was on hand for places to visit it made our stay more interesting. Such a beautiful area and much to explore that we will definitly be making a return visit and will certainly be staying at Chez Shona.
