About the home

Accommodation consists of one double bedroom with en–suite bathroom (can also be shared), a further double and twin bedroom with further bathroom. There is also a separate twin bedroom at the far side of the villa with its own wash basin and shower cubicle.

The spacious and elegant living area is open-planned and L-shaped. There are two wood-burning stoves for winter lets. There is a large television screen on the wall, a DVD player and CD player.

The kitchen is separated from the dining and sitting room living areas by a very large marble-topped breakfast bar. It is fully fitted with gas cooker, microwave, large fridge, espresso and filter coffee maker with enough crockery for eight people eating inside or al fresco. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine

A long drive leads down the side of the villa to a large rustic car port, sufficient for four cars. Beyond this is a rough grass area.

The villa's swimming pool is 10 x 5 metres with lounging area on one side & sunken garden at far end. There are steps into the shallow end. There is a spacious poolside courtyard with a shaded cabana and barbeque. There is also a roof terrace with further barbecue offering spectacular views extending to the Monchique Mountains.

There is a large selection of shops, bars, restaurants and beaches offering a variety of water sports at Praia Da Luz, two kilometres away.

For golf enthusiasts, Boavista, Parque Da Floresta and Palmares,golf courses are only a very short drive away.

There is maid service five mornings a week.

The villa is single storey with a an L-shaped marble floored, semi open plan living area comprising kitchen with marble work surfaces, traditional portuguese hand-painted wall tiles and large marble topped breakfast bar leading to large dining-room with wood-burner and arched opening to huge lounge with satellite TV & DVD, wood-burner and plenty of comfortable seating for large parties .
There is a separate laundry room with washing machine.

The pool, patio & cabana are all in an enclosed area in the style of an old portuguese farm & fully furnished so extremely suitable for lively family parties of all ages.
The cabana is a an outdoor room open on the patio/pool side & next to the BBQ. It is fully furnished for dining alfresco.
There is a poolside shower.

The Algarve is a stunning area in the south of Portugal with lovely beaches, plenty of interesting towns to visit such as Lagos with its ancient ruins and interesting churches, and various pretty villages. Vila do Bispo is well worth a visit with its classic Portuguese town centre of white-washed buildings, as is Cape St Vincent which is the most south western point of Europe.

There are plenty of things to do in this beautiful town on the coast of the Algarve. This is a laid-back town where you can relax on the beach in the sunshine, explore the inland countryside or spend a leisurely lunch at one of the local restaurants enjoying the food.

“great holiday, nice villa and perfect location.” If you want a completely relaxing holiday in a villa that feels like home then this is the place for you. The villa is spacious and very clean, thanks to Fatima the maid and what a treat to have your own swimming pool. We would all thoroughly recommend the villa and the surrounding area. Burgau still retains it's village charm and has many good restaurants to choose from. We all had a wonderful holiday and can't wait to go back. Response: We were very happy with this response as we encourage return visitors. We have had many return vistors in the past as well as people booking on the recommendation of others. The villa does seem to have this effect on many people.

“Everything you could wish for........” We stayed at Casa Do Poco for two weeks recently, 9 of us, 4 adults and 5 teenagers. Plus points: Lots of space, everything we could possibly need, enough seats and sun loungers for the whole group, great pool, comfortable beds, good location, bbq's are fantastic, roof top and views were amazing! Biggest plus point-Fatima, the most helpful, unobtrusive maid, who couldn't do enough to help and kept the place spotless. She even understood teenagers and the fact that they weren't always up in the mornings!! Only minus points for me was although the walk to Burgau, was short, it was dark and dangerous on the return journey. There were no pavements and no lighting and it was scary! Only minus points for the cook in our party was that the cooker was difficult to use, when catering for 9 people. Other members in our group felt that air conditioning would have been an advantage as it was VERY hot during the night. Don't let these comments put you off, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the property, Many thanks to Penny xx Response: We are very pleased that these families enjoyed their stay and are aware that a bigger cooker would be an advantage but it is new and quite efficient. We intend to change the format of the fitted kitchen units to make space for a larger cooker when we get the opportunity. Air conditioning is also under consideration but would probably mean a higher rent.

“Villa excellent” Holiday was very enjoyable. Casa do Poco is a very comfortable and homely place to stay in lovely countryside - we could not have asked for anything more. Response: We are delighted with this review as it reflects our feelings when we first saw the villa in 1999 with our extended family and made the decision to buy it. We feel it is a very relaxing place to stay.

“Spacious, well appointed villa in secluded spot close to unspoilt coast” My wife and I very much enjoyed our month long stay at this secluded spacious villa situated in one of the few remaining unspoilt coastal parts of the Algarve. The long serving maid is a real treasure who keeps the villa spotlessly clean. Since we were staying at the villa in the winter months, she kept the fireplace constantly stocked up with wood so that we could enjoy a log fire each evening. Our only complaint was the cooker which was not up to the high standard of all the other appointments and equipment. Response: We were very happy with this review and have since replaced the cooker.
