About the home

Set in extensive gardens, Quinta Petra is a unique villa in that it combines traditional Portuguese architecture with modern living. The villa comes with a large pool and there is also a sauna. The kitchen is large and well equipped and the bedrooms are delightful, with traditional Portuguese tiling and large beds.

The outside areas are extensive with lots of palm trees in the garden and large terraces with pool, bbq and plenty of outside seating/lounging furniture, so that you can make the most of the sun or the shade

Quinta Petra's furnishings make the most of the traditional Portuguese architecture of the villa. Two bedrooms are in the main house and one is in an annex attached to the house, which makes it ideal for families where some members want that little bit extra privacy. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for both in-villa and alfresco dining. The beds are huge and are of a German manufacture so are very comfortable and have their own individual reading positions. The lounge is comfortably furnished with soft sofas and the overall ambience is about being in a real home from home as opposed to a 'holiday' let.

The villa is enclosed by extensive gardens and is totally private. The gardens are fully enclosed making it a good place for children to run around on the lawned areas. The pool is large and there is also extensive terracing and eating/dining/relaxing areas, and large enough for families or couples to be together but also to have some 'me' time too.

25% deposit on booking with the remainder plus a £250 returnable damage deposit payable eight weeks before departure. Payment can be in sterling (bank transfer, cheque or credit card - a 3.5% surcharge for the latter which is what Paypal charge) or in euros (bank transfer or credit card, with again a 3.5% Paypal surcharge

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Western Algarve is a sun lover's delight - 300 days of sunshine per year, and during the hottest months, a light breeze to stop it getting too hot. There are lots of towns and villages around which offer hundreds of restaurants, night life etc but with the capacity still to find the 'real Portugal' both along the coast and a couple of minutes' inland

The Lagos area

Lagos is the nearest town to Quinta Petra (1.5 km) and there are restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Lagos itself offers culture, history (it is an old walled town and a delight to walk around), nightlife and a whole host of beaches and water sports in its area. The bustling but traditional resort town of Luz is just five minutes away and Boavista championship golf course with its health club/spa, tennis etc is literally 800m from Quinta Petra. Water sports abound all along the coast, there is good walking country nearby and lots of activities for children (and their parents!)

Lagos is located just a 50 minute (easy motorway drive) from Faro which is served by most scheduled and budget airlines. For those travelling from further afield, Lisbon is just 2-2.5 hours away.

“We had such a relaxing time” Quinta Petra was a peaceful oasis set in it's own grounds, the pool and garden areas were a great place to relax. The villa was well equipped throughout, we couldn't fault any part of our stay here. We had a fantastic holiday with some superb food in the local restaurants recommend by Caroline.

“Great Villa” This was a great villa in a residential area of Lagos. Supermarkets and amenities within an easy drive. Only one restaurant and bar in easy walking distance. The restaurant however was a good Portugese establishment.
