About the home

This beautifully decorated and furnished new villa at the edge of Burgau village has everything you need for the perfect holiday! French doors lead from the living room onto a south facing patio with your own pool and there is a sun terrace and balcony upstairs. You also have free access to the 4* Burgau Club large pool.
The friendly village bars and restaurants 5 minutes walk away offer great food and wine at good value, and the cobbled streets down to the idyllic sandy beach are full of character. Look for bargains at the small daily market down the road, and watch for the red mobile post office each morning around 11. With a regular bus service to Lagos, Luz and other beaches you don't need a car, but if you hire one there are fabulous sights to see and places to explore.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Algarve is a year-round destination. Summers are hot, but the humidity is tempered by gentle sea breezes and winter days are usually sunny and warm with cooler nights. Many visitors prefer to go there in spring or winter, when the sunshine is still warm and there are less people about! The scents in the air from the wild flowers in spring is magic!
Burgau is an hour's drive from Faro Airport, mostly on the A22 motorway. While a car is not necessary, if you decide to hire one you can tear yourself away from the beach and explore the amazing variety of flora, fauna and scenic beauty of the surrounding Natural Park of the Western Algarve which has an abundance of beautiful, unspoilt, sandy beaches and coves protected by dramatic cliffs.

A day trip to the spa town of Monchique to the North is a treat with lots of local foods, drinks and crafts to sample and buy, and from Monchique Mountains there are panoramic views of the whole South Western coastline and Atlantic Ocean. From Monchique travel to Arrifana on the West coast and marvel at the towering, sheer cliffs battered by Atlantic waves when taking the coastal route south to Cape St. Vincent.

The lovely palm fringed market town of Lagos has lots of shops and restaurants lining its historic winding streets and a large yacht marina from where you can take boat trips for fishing, visiting coastal caves and grottoes and dolphin watching. You can swim with tame dolphins at Zoomarine, or have a day's fun at the water parks near Albufeira.

This is the quieter, more scenic part of the Algarve where you can escape the cares and stresses of life and indulge in the wonderful foods, genuine friendliness of the people and the slower pace of life.

The Lagos / Burgau area

Most people who 'discover' Burgau for themselves find themselves hooked, and return there again and again. Full of character, very friendly people, brilliant weather, great food, amazing beach, local shops and restaurants -it has the 'x' factor that many people seek.
You can look for bargains at the small daily morning market on your way to the beach which is at the bottom of a narrow cobbled street lined with small shops and cafes. The renowned Burgau Beach Bar on the beach has great food and is perfect to quench you thirst, gaze out to sea or have a chat in the shade.
In summer there is a regular local bus service to Lagos, Luz and other beaches and there is a wide variety of sports available in the area including tennis, squash, swimming lessons, watersports, soccer and horse riding.
The Algarve is one of Europe's major destinations for Golf, and there is a large choice of superb courses. Parque da Floresta and Boa Vista Golf are within a 15 minute drive and Palmares Links and Penina are nearby. All courses welcome visitors, lessons from professionals are available and most require course etiquette/dress codes and a handicap certificate.
