Weather you are walking, golfing, surfing or just chilling with the kids this area has something for all. Guests can enjoy the private onsite facilities that include a bar, restaurant, spacious swimming pool, kids pool, fully fitted gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. A beautiful blue flag beach is a short walk down through the pretty cobbled streets of the village, where you can enjoy the local produce and catches at one of the many traditional restaurants. The historic town of Lagos with its walled city, modern marina and funky bars is only 10 mins drive, and the village of Luz is only 5 mins drive.
There are numerous golf courses in the area, Parque Floresta and Boavista only 10 mins drive, and for the more adventurous, the unspoilt west coast has some of the best surfing beaches in Europe. The apartment itself is spacious, beautifully furnished and extremely well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, designer interiors, contemporary bathrooms with underfloor heating/whirlpool bath, air-conditioning and heating for cooler low season nights. There is also a very large roof terrace providing stunning sea and countryside views.

The Algarve region
Located next to the natural park, there are many beautiful walks. To the east is Luz, and Salema is to the west. Clifftop walks can be taken in either direction with breathtaking scenery and wonderful flora and fauna. Surfing is very popular in this part of the Algarve with excellent beaches and some of the best waves in Europe. There are many surf schools offering courses in this area and a local one that does pickups in Burgau every day during the holiday season. For the windsurfing/kiting enthusiasts, Sagres (20 minutes) is an excellent location with consistent winds.
The development is in Burgau itself and only a few minutes walk from its restaurants and local shops. Luz is a 5 minute drive with a wider range of restaurants, shops and a larger supermarket. Lagos - a beautiful, historic town with funky bars and restaurants and marina - is 10 minutes drive. Anybody that likes to explore can really enjoy Burgau as their base to travel to the west coast (beautiful beaches/surfing). The famous Roman spa town Monchique and Sagres (the end of the world/great sunsets) are short drives away.
Lagos / Burgau area
Plenty of activities for the kids and kids at heart! There are two huge waterparks nearby: Slide and Splash water park is situated in Lagoa, a 20 minute drive, by car and Aqualand is at Alcantarilha, 30 minutes away. ZooMarine - with its aquatic animal shows and small theme park – is just 35 minutes away. Lagos Zoo is 15 minutes drive and from the marina in Lagos there are boat and fishing trips and dolphin watching. Scuba diving can be found in Lagos and Sagres, windsurfing in Martinhal, tennis courts in Burgau and riding stables in Almadena, a 5 minute drive. There is a general sports centre in Burgau which has an indoor pool, tennis court, playground and other activities for adults and children. There is also a cash machine in the village and many others in Luz and Lagos.
How to get there
There are cheap flights from most UK airports to Faro airport. Check with your local airport for www.easyjet.com, www.ryanair.com and other budget airlines. The apartment is an easy 1 hour drive from Faro airport on the A22 motorway.
Car rental is recommended to enjoy the other lovely beaches and national parkland in this beautiful region. There is both a bus and rail service from Faro to Lagos and then a local bus service that goes to Burgau.

Domus Ibérica Burgau has its own exclusive clubhouse with facilities including bar, restaurant, spacious swimming pool, kids pool, fully fitted gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas surround the pool area for guest use. Access to all is via an electronic gate (card supplied).
