Home description
Casa Cosmo is a converted fisherman's villa. It is on three floors with two balconies and has been very recently refurbished. Located in the beautiful and picturesque town of Burgau on the South Coast of the Algave, very close to Lagos and a short walk from restaurants and bars. Watch the sun go down on one of two balconies and relax in classic style and comfort. For two euro a day, you can use the swimming pool in the hotel behind the house.
Casa Cosmo is owned by an artist, there is no television as she keeps herself busy painting! "I see people with lots of interests taking this villa, for example walkers/ramblers, golfers, artists, or indeed anyone who wants to get away from it all!"

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Western part of the Algarve is far less developed than the area nearer to the airport. There are wonderful cliff walks and between March and June the wild flowers are beautiful. It is also very interesting for bird watching. There are also many stunning beaches in this part of the Algarve. Praia donna Anna is a really exquisite little beach were you can hire a boat to explore the caves. Castelejo is a stunning beach on the west coast and only 25 minutes away, as is Xavial, Ingrinha, and Martinhal where you can windsurf. The weather is always so much better than at home! I was here in March and it was very warm, and if you like it hot then July and August is the time for you.
Lagos / Burgau area
In Burgau you can arrange to do snorkelling, and diving with harpoons. There is plenty of 'Wave Culture' on these beaches nearer to the west coast. Sometimes in Burgau you can join in on paragliding. There is a small runway for microlight flying just outside Lagos, or there is a small aircraft flying school at Alvor. Luz bay is excellent for watersports. Tickets for Bull fights can be found in Lagos. There are also several good local golf courses, the nearest at Parque de Floresta, Salema. If you feel adventurous you can get a boat from Portimao up the river to the Moorish castle town of Silves, when the tide is right! There is shark fishing, and a chance to join a day's sailing excursion from Lagos as well as Portimao. There is Burgau Sports Centre where children's activities take place and three tennis courts.
How to get there
I fly with Monarch Airlines, flymonarch.com, First Choice, or Destination Portugal: 01993 773269, but this depends entirely where you are flying from the United Kingdom, and there are hundreds of airlines going to Faro I recommend hiring a car from Luz Car Company and they will meet you inside the airport. ATB in Burgau will fix this up for you: 00351 282 697123. The cars are kept in the airport car park and this makes the journey so much easier as many car hire companies make you take a bus to there depot. You fly to Faro and the journey to Burgau takes one hour on the A22. You will need to fill up with petrol and you can do this as you come out of the airport on the far side of the roundabout that has marvelous sculptures of people looking up at planes. After this follow the blue signs for A22 Lisboa/Portimao. I will provide more detailed directions when you book.

Further details indoors: Downstairs there is a double bedroom with bathroom en suite and a separate single bedroom. On the first floor there is a large double room, at present with a single bed as well, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a smaller bedroom adjacent with a three-quarter bed and wardrobe and chest of drawers. Both rooms have mirrors and share a balcony. Stairs up from the first floor take you to the top of the house where there is a large studio room with kitchen at one end, a breakfast bar, a dining area, and at the far end a large L-shaped sofa. There is a fridge with a frozen food compartment, oven and plenty of china, glass and cooking utensils.
Further details outdoors: Parking for unloading is fine, but then the car needs to be left at the top of the road by the cliff where there is adequate space. It is a very narrow road and there is normally a van or two who will need sufficient space to pass.

I would like a 50% deposit on booking, the balance to be paid no more than two weeks before departure. Arrangements for last minute bookings can easily be sorted out over the phone. Further details of favourite beaches, and there are some really beautiful ones as well as Burgau Beach, details of the many restaurants that I can recommend can be supplied by post once you have booked.
Conditions
The property is available for all of August, and bookings that will fit in with the owner's schedule of visits.
