A beautifully appointed , spacious , light, upper floor apartment on the 18 hole Championship Boavista Golf Course ,with its southfacing balcony ,sunloungers, table and chairs overlooking the 14th green with stunning views of the golf course beyond . A golfers dream! The lounge has a 42 inch plasma TV (with SKY).The balcony at the other side of the property overlooks the communal outdoor heated swimming pool and children's pool, with it's changing facilities and lockers. Open plan hallway into lounge/ dining area . Kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The two twin bedded rooms have hair dryers and large built in wardrobes. Both bedrooms have patio doors onto the back balcony with table and chairs. The main bedroom has a wall mounted TV ( with SKY) and an en- suite bath / shower room with a very large mirror, toilet and bidet . There is a separate shower room with wash basin and toilet off the hall. Smoke alarms will be fitted in the future for your safety.
The apartment is situated on the prestigious and tranquil 260 acre Boavista Golf resort Complex, just west of Lagos .Luxury villas and apartments are clustered in small villages and are ideal for families and golfers alike , close to many golf courses and beautiful sandy beaches. ''Careways' , the on -site management company, are available for any queries during your holiday. Information packs are available in the apartment.
Boavista is near the sheltered sandy beach of Luz and the beautiful, rugged west coast surfing beaches that can be reached by car. The golf clubhouse and restaurant is a short walk from tha apartment on site . Lagos, with it's old town and new marina , bars and restaurants are only a ten minute drive away .

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Western Algarve has one of the most pleasant climates in the world , with 300 days of sunshine every year !Summers are hot and dry ( 28 degrees) with a pleasant sea breeze in summer , and winters are warm . The area caters for golfers and families alike, with its wealth of exciting and challenging golf couses (Boavista, Parque da Floresta, Palmares, Penina- to name just a few!) and varied sandy beaches , from small and protected, to beautiful vast expanses of golden sand stretching for miles on the west coast - very similar to the Cornish beaches.
Luz, the nearest beach resort, within a 5 - 10 minute drive from the apartment , was once upon a time a fishing village and is now devoted to the quieter side of the tourist trade.
Lagos / Boavista area
Pria De Luz has a gently shelving sandy clean beach, which is sheltered by sandstone cliffs. There are sailing and watersports facilities available here in the mid/ high season.
To the west of Luz are secluded sandy beaches , many of which are 'blue flag' , such as Zaival, Ingrina, Martinhal and Mareta. So far , our favourite is Castelejo, a wild and beautiful west coast surfing beach .( see pictures)
Lagos , a town that combines tourism with being a real commercial and fishing centre, is 2 kms away from the apartment .Lagos is a maze of cobbled streets and open squares and in the mid to high season has an abundance of varied street cafes and restaurants. A ' must see' in Lagos is the Antigo Mercado de Escravos, the Slave Market ( said to be the oldest in Europe), but now happily it has become an art gallery. Lagos has a castle whose walls protect the old town and its numerous churches and museums. Market day is the first Saturday of every month, but there is a smaller indoor market most mornings in the centre of Lagos. Lagos has many festivals throughout the year , including a choral festival in May, food festivals in August and an art and flamenco festival in September ( see Lagos tourist info for details) In the recently constructed Lagos marina with its yachts, there are dolphin watching boat trips and deep sea fishing can be arranged.
Portos de Mos , now being developed , has a lovely unspoilt beach ( see picture) and beach front bar .
Just west of Lagos, are the beautiful rock formations of Ponta da Piedade, one of the most photographed spots on the Algarve. Taking a fisherman's boat out out into the blue waters to view the caves and rocks is a real treat.
Thirty minutes by car east of the apartment near Guia, are water parks , a large shopping complex with over a hundred shops, bowling and cinemas.
Portimao is the second largest town in the Algarve and with its attractive waterfront, beach , ruined castle and restaurants,is only 25 mins drive east of the apartment. Portimao is also a fishing port and is famous for its sardine lunches . It's southern suburb, Pria da Roche, is a busy holiday resort. Head inland from Portimao and you will reach picturesque Monchique in the Sera mountains.
West of Luz are the more authentic fishing villages of Burgau( see picture) and Salema situated in the Costa Vicenta Nature Reserve.
The road west of Lagos winds its way toward the atlantic facing Vila do Bispo and the beautiful west coast beaches beyond to the most south -westerley point of the Algarve , Cape St Vincent.( see picture). Here you see the rugged towering cliffs being beaten by the atlantic waves below. Sagres and its fortress lie to the east of The Cape.
Lisbon is an easy 2 hour drive via motorway from the apartment.
How to get there
*FLIGHTS TO FARO - Monarch (www.flymonarch.com), Excel, Jet -2 (www.jet-2.com), Easyjet (www.easyjet.com), Thomson Fly (www.thomsonfly.com), Ryanair (www.ryanair.com), Blackpool airport in summer now flies to Faro! Also British Airways (www.british-airways.com), TAP Air (www.flytap.com). Try www.travelsupermarket.com
* CAR HIRE- We would advise you to book before you go , preferably via the internet which is often cheaper. We have tried Guerin car hire , Luz cars and have met others who have tried World rent and been very satisfied. (you can pick up and drop off cars at the airport at Faro with these companies- but be careful, as I understand with some car rental firms you can't do this). Please note some rental agreements may state the car must be returned 'with a full tank of petrol ' ( which we prefer as we may not use much ) and also check whether the cost quoted includes ' excess collision waiver insurance' which may well be advisable, as if you damage the car, you may have to pay the first £ 1000 of the damage costs!
* On booking , information as to how to get to our apartment from Faro by car will be sent . Boavista is just off junction 1 of the A22.
*Travel information can be obtained at the Tourist information desk at Faro airport or via internet site before your trip.
* The train station, which goes to Lagos, is about 5 kms away from Faro airport.( it takes about 1hr and 30 mins to Lagos by train). There would be a ten minute taxi ride then locally to Boavista.
*Taxis to Boavista from the airport may cost in region of £70- 90 one way , but you can pre-book your own taxi or a small minibus that drops off other people too, to Lagos which is much cheaper before you go.
* The local buses are cheap to Lagos and then to Boavista, but may take up to two and a half hours from the airport at times.

* Payment to be made by cheque in GBP.
* Bookings will only be secured on a cleared non returnable deposit of 25% of the total rental cost and the remaining balance is to be paid eight calendar weeks prior to the date of holiday commencement. If the balance is not paid and received by this date, the apartment will be released for rental purposes once more immediately.
* A refundable security deposit of £300 pounds is required at the same time as the final balance payment, to cover the cost of any damage, breakages or theft. Any breakages or damage should be notified immediately to Careways.
* Please send the 'SECURITY DEPOSIT' and the 'FINAL BALANCE' all on ONE CHEQUE, with your 'SURNAME' and '53 LAKEVIEW' clearly written on the back of the cheque.
* If you have booked less than 8 calendar weeks before the commencement date of your holiday , all payments above will be expected to be paid immediately on one cheque.
*The £300 security deposit will be refunded fully ten working days after safe return of the apartment keys, if no damage to the property and its contents has been found by our representatives. This deposit will be refunded at this stage by a separate cheque to the address you have given at booking, less any deductions for damages, breakages or missing items.
* Changeover days are flexible and can be discussed at time of booking.
* Short term lets negotiable ( minimum 4 nights).
* Longer term winter rentals will be considered.
