The Algarve region
The Western Algarve is fast becoming the favourite destination for families, the fabulous beaches, and the easy way of life makes it ideal for people seeking a relaxing and unhurried vacation. The climate is perfect for outdoor living, bar-b-q's etc, and there are all kinds of outdoor activities, golf, sailing, tennis etc, in and around the historic town of Lagos, which is on a 50 minutes drive form Faro International airport, served by most budget airlines.
Lagos area
Lagos is famous for it's local markets, with wonderful fresh food on sale at prices you won't believe. You can eat expensive or economy, the quality is the same, and most local people can speak at least some english. No visit is complete without visiting the famous marina, where you can sample the high life with a day's yacht charter, or take a ride to spot the dolphins on one of the dolphin boat. There are hourly trip that take you to the facinating caves and grottos, and some include a bar-be-que on the beach.
How to get there
Most budget airlines fly to Faro, Lagos is on the western end of the Algarve approximatley 50 minutes drive from the airport. Alternatively there ia a direct train service to Lagos, travel time approximatley 2 hours.

Further details indoors: The Studio is located in the area of Torreltinha, a quiet area of Lagos favoured by families, there are a number of great restaurants and family bars in the area. Located on the ground floor is a comfortable bar and cafeteria serving inexpensive drinks and snacks throughout the day in into the evening. There is a large shared pool with a children's area and lots of sun bathing space, or a short walk will take you to the beautiful beaches of Preia D'Ana or Porto do Mos.
Further details outdoors: Lagos is the ideal location for families, boasting some of the finest and safest beaches in Europe, as well as museums, cafes, and great shopping. For lovers of fun on the water, the famous marina of Lagos with its shops bars and restaurants is just five minutes drive away, and Golfers will love the many championship courses all within a ten minute drive.
