Lagos / Burgau area
Burgau is a traditional fishing village with narrow cobbled streets, 10 kilometres west of the historic town of Lagos in the Algarve.
A wonderful location as a base for a golfing holiday - the world famous Penina course is twenty minutes east. Parque da Floresta and Boa Vista are close by.
If you like to enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear Atlantic ocean, walk on the cliff top to Salema, peruse local markets or simply inhale the intoxicatingly pure air, then Burgau will not be surpassed. The local people are most welcoming and English is widely used. The airport in Faro is only an hour's drive from this picturesque village
In this friendly traditional fishing village, there is a good variety of restaurants and bars. From family friendly pizza bars to intimate restaurants, Burgau has something to please everyone's palate. It is a three minute walk to the beach but it may take somewhat longer to return home if you pay a visit to some of the local bars such as The Smugglers, Ivo's, Varanda, and Jimmi's on the way back!
