About the home

This lovely first floor apartment is one of only a handful of properties for rent in the original village so ideal for people who do not like the large complexes nearby. There are two bedrooms of a good size and a large airy living/dining room. The living room has satellite tv, a c.d player, a dvd player and two sofas, one of which doubles as a very comfortable double sofa-bed. There are plenty of books and board games (including Scrabble!) for you to use, as well as beach mats etc. The kitchen has everything you might need, including a coffee machine. There are wonderful world-class golf courses nearby, with spas, so ideal location for keen golfers. Equally suited to beach lovers as the beach is under a two minute walk away. With good shopping and nightlife in nearby Lagos, there is something for everyone. An ideal location for children too, with the wonderful Lagos zoo under ten minutes away. A helpful and compehensive folder containing everything you might need to know about the property and activities nearby is in the apartment.

Knowing from experience how challenging it can be to travel with babies, we have a very good travel cot, with bedding, available to those who might need it. There is also a travel-style high chair in the apartment. These are available free of charge.

Further details outdoors:
Although we do not have a pool, there are several only minutes away which can be used free of charge. As the beach is so close it has never proved to be a problem! Parking is easy, although due to the location of the apartment it is not possible to park outside the door as it is on a one-way cobbled street leading down to the beach. Cars can be left at the top of the road quite safely though.

We would like a 50% deposit on booking, the balance to be paid no more than two weeks before you arrive at the property. Arrangements for more last minute bookings can easily be sorted out over the phone!

The Algarve / West Algarve region

This part of the Algarve offers countless beautiful sandy beaches, many of which are famous for surfing and have surf schools on site. The weather is usually wonderful and starts getting really warm from about March right through to late October.

Just recently the very exciting new Formula One track , the Autodromo, in Portimao opened. Details can be seen at www.autodromoalgarve.com . This facility is only a twenty minute drive from the apartment and all the world class drivers have visited there several times already!

The Lagos / Burgau area

Burgau is a small village which is still an active fishing village, located next to a national park. There are many great bars and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. There are two local grocery shops where you can buy everything you need during your stay, these too are only a few monutes walk away. If you want wider shopping experiences, nearby Lagos is a great place to visit; only 10 minutes by car or you can hop on the local bus. Within a few miles of the village you can participate in an enormous range of sports including scuba diving, horse riding, golf or bowling. Europe's most spectacular golf course, is only 5 minutes away and day membership is very reasonable. It also has a great beauty spa which caters for both men and women. We have left maps of local walks in the apartment for those who enjoy this activity.

You can fly to Faro (around a 1 hour drive away) or to Lisbon (around 2.5-3 hour drive). Lisbon can often be much cheaper option and the drive is beautiful. There are many, many airlines which fly to both, including Easyjet. We usually fly to Lisbon and hire a car on arrival, Auto-Europe is often the best price and can be pre-booked online.
