This recently converted one bedroom self contained apartment on the upper floor of a "Quinta" or farmhouse, Casa Kevino, is on a small holding in the little village of Colegio near Bensafrim in the Western Algarve, about 6km north of Lagos. Though remote it's easy to reach as Bensafrim is at the western end of the motorway that runs along the Algarve. You will be close to typical Portuguese villages with local markets, bars and restaurants away from the mainstream of tourists (and tourist prices!).
It's a blissfully quiet and relaxing retreat with country walks nearby or farther afield in the nearby national reserve park; you can enjoy our beautiful wild flowers and birds. The property has a garden and smallholding where the owners grow their own produce. Sunbathe on the terrace during the day and enjoy the warm summer evenings with a barbecue!

The Algarve / West Algarve region

Lagos (6 Km) is much larger bustling town with lovely cobbled streets and historic buildings, cuisine to suit all tastes, markets, street stalls and pavement artists. There is a fabulous cosmopolitan Marina with boats, diving and sea trips.

The Algarve is a well known holiday region which offers something for everybody .

Lagos / Bensafrim area

Bensafrim ( 2.5 Km) is a traditional Portuguese village with a choice of local shops, pharmacy, post office, bars and restaurants.
Locally there is horse riding and not far away are kayaking,golf courses and the fabulous Meia Praia beach in Lagos.Walking,birdwatching, looking for menhirs,wildflowers-especially wild orchids in the early Spring.
Its a great base from which you can explore the wonderful beaches of the Algarve´s west coast: bathed by the Atlantic, they are often wild and deserted and many known only to the surfing community and the locals.

How to get there

Fly to Faro - Easyjet, Monarch, Thomsonfly, etc and scheduled flights.
Then about 80 km drive to end of the A22 motorway in the Western Algarve-about one hour from the airport to the property.
Most major and many local car hire firms operate from the airport. Advance booking is advisable.

There is a double bedroom, separate bathroom, sitting room leading on to the terrace and a modern galley kitchen with fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and twin hotplates.The sofa bed in the sitting room can be used to put up an extra 2 people.

The terrace is a large terrace with lovely views over the countryside; good for sunbathing and great for evening barbeques and sitting out in the evening. There is a rural garden and smallholding which grows the owners produce.
