Home description

This lovely villa is perfectly located in a tranquil, south facing and sheltered location, which affords the very best views of the championship golf course, coastline and countryside. The private south-facing garden and balconies catch the sun all day, whilst the upstairs front balcony provides for wonderful evening sunshine and dining overlooking the pool and the Monchique Mountains beyond. With great beaches and the lovely old town of Lagos on the doorstep, the villa provides a luxurious base from which to explore this exciting coastline. Many beautiful beaches are only a few minutes drive away and some of the best surfing in Europe is about twenty-five minutes by car. Lagos town offers plenty of fine bars, restaurants and nightlife. Guests have access to the championship golf facility as well as the spa, gym, heated indoor and outdoor pools, driving range, tennis, soccer and short game practice facility.

The Algarve region

There are many reasons to visit the Algarve: a warm, sunny climate that usually enjoys a lovely breeze, some of the best beaches in Europe, numerous quality golf courses, and a relaxed atmosphere. The Western side of the Algarve is less developed than areas nearer to the airport: the motorway to this area only opened a few year's ago. If you take a trip to the spectacular coastline at Cape St Vincent you will be at the most south-westerly point of mainland Europe and this area is steeped in naval history.

Other places to visit include the picturesque mountain spa town of Monchique; the quaint fishing village of Burgau; the Barragem de Bravura near Odiaxere, where you can swim in the dam's eucalyptus-scented water and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Megalithic monuments at Evora.


Lagos / Boavista area

There are numerous beautiful beaches nearby: Porto de Mos, Praia D'Ana, Praia Da Luz and Meia Praia are all within a few minutes drive away from Boavista. Further West, there are many secluded beaches which are off the beaten track such as Zavier and Tonel. Windsurfing is popular at Martinhal beach and there are a number of surfing beaches in the far south-west and further up north along the coast. All of these beaches are between 5 minutes and 45 minutes from the villa- a beach explorer's paradise!

Lagos is an easy place to be- there are ample street cafes and restaurants along the cobbled whitewashed streets, a local market every Saturday morning, interesting small shops, a fresh fish market and a lively night life. From the harbour you can go on a boat trip to spot dolphins, visit caves, fish or even charter your own yacht.

For children who want a change from Boavista's swimming pools and from playing on the beaches, there a couple of good attractions about 40 minutes drive away: there is a big Slide Splash park and at Zoo Marine there is a wonderful dolphin show, aquarium, 4-d cinema, swimming pool and a few rides too.

For golfers, Boavista championship golf course is on the doorstep. This course opened on the 1st January 2002 and was designed by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects. His objective was to design a course that preserves and integrates with the area's natural terrain. Umbrella pines, almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways making Boavista a beautiful golf course. The golf is challenging and enjoyable and the course has quickly earned the reputation of being amongst the best in in the area. Guests at the villa receive a 20% discount off the green fees and a 10% reduction at the clubhouse.

There must be in the region of 30 other great courses within an hour's drive of Boavista, for example, Palmares, Alto Golf, Morgado, Penina, Villa Sol, Salgados, Pinta, Gramacho, Parque da Floresta, Vilamoura, Pinhal, Laguna and Millenium.

The nearest airport is Faro International. Most airports have budget flights to Faro. Below are listed a few examples:

The journey time to Boavista Resort from Faro airport is approximately 50 minutes by car. Taxis are available from the airport and it usually costs around 90 euros one way. Easyjet also offer a transfer service. A train service is available from Faro to Lagos- information is available from the tourist information at Faro airport. However, car hire is highly recommended in order to get the most out of your holiday. All of the major car hire companies have offices at the arrivals hall at Faro airport.

In addition to the outside terrace, the villas has a lovely covered first floor balcony overlooking the pool. The balcony is also equipped for up to 4 people to dine in the evening sun.

The villa is completely security-protected by electronic roller shutters to all windows.

The resort offers tennis courts, a soccer pitch, heated indoor pool, spa, gym, restaurant, golf shop, golf clubhouse and bar. There is also a great children's playground, golf driving range and golf short game academy. The clubhouse is open all day and serves drinks, breakfast, lunch and in the evening there is an dinner menu.

The house is directly opposite the swimming pools: all guests have full use of the 28m heated pool and the smaller heated children's pool (the pools are heated to 26 degrees from 1 April to October half term). The pool area, wonderful for sunbathing, also provides a safe area for kids to bathe and play. Access to the pool area is restricted via key card for only the immediate neighbouring properties. The house has a private rear garden that is laid to lawn, south facing ground floor patio with dining table chairs and sun furniture. The house also has an upstairs north facing patio that also has dining furniture.

The nearest supermarket, Intermache, is 5 mins by car from the villa. This shop sells everything from food to clothes. The resort has a security team who patrol around the area, especially at night- they even let you know if you leave your car boot open by mistake!

Please call or email to book. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required within one week of booking. Full balance payment is due 8 weeks prior to departure. Late bookings made less than 8 weeks before departure are required to pay full balance on booking. As the villa is very well furnished a returnable security deposit is taken to cover the cost of any damages. We offer 10% discount for any repeat bookings placed within 6 weeks of your return home, provided the new booking is for a period within 14 months.
