Lagos / Meia Praia area
The historic town of Lagos, with its quaint cobbled streets, offers something for everyone including bars, cafes, boutiques and top class restaurants. Excursions for dolphin watching or to explore the grottos can be taken from the Marina.There are also two water parks and a Zoo Marine within easy reach. It is also a golfer's paradise with several championship courses nearby, including Palmares (5 mins) and Penina and Boavista (15mins).
Meia Praia beach is 5 kms of golden sand with several beach bars dotted along its length. Many watersports are also on offer.
How to get there
Fly to Faro: Cheap flights are available from Monarch, Jet 2, Easyjet, Thomson Fly etc but you should book early to get the best deals. On arrival you can reach the apartment by car, taxi or train.
Car: All major rental companies are represented at Faro Airport. Advance booking is advisable, speeding up transfer times and ensuring a car is available at busy times. The journey takes approx 50 mins, mainly on the motorway, and directions are available.
Taxi: Taxis cost approx 80 euros each way dependent on the time of day and number of passengers. You should agree the price with the driver beforehand.
Train: The train from Faro to Lagos takes 2 hours and costs approx 8 euros per person each way. The apartment is a short taxi drive ride from the apartment.
