Located just under 55 minutes from Faro Airport this luxury villa is situated in the centre of AlmaVerde Village, near Burgau and Lagos, in the Western Algarve.
Offering spacious, fresh and modern living the Villa has 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms, sleeping up to 8, and is only a short distance from a range of beaches, golf courses, the Algarve Motor Park and the historical town of Lagos.
The Villa has its own large heated pool and private garden. It is in a very private location at the end of a line of Villas and to the right is the open countryside.
At AlmaVerde itself there are floodlit tennis courts, a Wellness Centre and a children's playground which you can use.
Ideal if you are looking for a mix of peaceful countryside, beaches and town life.

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Western Algarve is a very beautiful and relatively unspoilt part of the Algarve which makes it very peaceful and great for walking or cycling. There are lots of sandy beaches to be found, some more popular and some that are so secluded that only local knowledge or a chance find will take you there.
The weather is your typical blue sky, bright sunshine weather which can start from the end of February onwards although you could never call it particularly cold during the day at any time of the year. The 2007 summer continued right on into December with temperatures up in the early 20's - perfect for winter summer holidays or golfing getaways.
There is normally a light breeze in the Western Algarve, which takes away the heat, and during the summer the evenings are still really warm.
Lagos / Burgau area
Lovely location for a family holiday. The beautiful village of Burgau is within 3 kms (4-5 mins) with its sheltered beach, restaurants and shops. Other beaches nearby include Salema and Luz and there are many hidden beaches for you to discover - our advice is to explore!
The beach at Lagos called Meia Praia is a 10km drive from the Villa and Lagos has an award winning marina which is essential to visit. Meia Praia is 5km of golden sand and here you can find all the main water sport activities. As well as the beach and marina, Lagos has beautiful cobbled streets which are lined with a large number of restaurants and shops - this is the largest town in the area and has everything you need.
For golfers the villa is within 5 mins drive of both Boa Vista and Parc da Floresta, and there are many other golf courses within easy reach such as Villamoura, Vale da Lobo, Quinta da Lago, San Corenzo, Palmares & Alto, etc.
For the more adventurous, there are opportunities for parasailing, paragliding and even learning to fly micro light aircraft. Scuba divers can explore caves and wrecks in the nearby coastal waters, and discover an abundance of sea life.
Further up toward and above Sagres is great for surfers and there is a surf school available if you want a lesson or 2.
Recently, and most excitingly, the Algarve Motor Park has opened near Portimao - http://www.autodromodoalgarve.com/index/ - if you're into F1, Fast Cars or Motorbikes I highly recommend you to check this out.
In the villa itself is a pack which will give you ideas of what you can do in the area as well as some local useful numbers.
How to get there
Faro Airport is a 55 minute drive from the property. If you fly to Lisbon the journey takes about 2.5 hours and is quite straight forward once you've negotiated your way around the outskirts of Lisbon.
There are no tolls at present on the motorway from Faro but if you are coming from Lisbon you'll need to take loose change as you may have to pass through a couple of tolls on your way down.
The good airlines to have look at are Monarch Airlines, EasyJet, TAP Portugal and BA - all fly into both Lisbon and Faro and sometimes have good deals on flights and also car hire.

Further details indoors: The Villa has a very spacious open-plan interior with vaulted ceilings over all the bedrooms and kitchen. With tiled flooring throughout the Villa is easy to maintain and stays lovely and fresh.
The Villa has a unique air cooling system called 'Cool House' and is insulated to a very high standard. In the sitting room there is a sealed gas 'log effect' fire - perfect to help keep the house warm during the colder months.

Further details outdoors: Spacious private patio area with 4 sun loungers, 6 dining chairs and a patio table - ideal for outside dining. The patio area is surrounding by a lovely landscaped garden and the private heated pool (with its own pool cover) is not overlooked by neighbouring villas. Safety swimming equipment is not supplied and so we would ask you to bring children's armbands, etc with you.
Accessed via stairs leading up from the entrance hallway is a private roof terrace. Up here you can soak in the beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding West Algarve countryside.
To the front is a private driveway with plenty of parking available.
At AlmaVerde (as already mentioned) are tennis courts, a Wellness Centre and children's playground which has a swing set, climbing frame and slide. All tennis courts can be booked through the management team and they sometimes hold little tournaments which is quite a fun way to meet other people staying at AlmaVerde. If you wanted tennis coaching this can also be hired either individually or in a group.
Further details
Pool Heating: The pool heating will be turned on and is included in the rent from 3rd July - 3rd September 2009. During the rest of the year it is an optional extra and charged at £88 per week.
Hired Items: If you would like to hire any cot beds or highchairs please let us know - we need plenty of notice to make sure that something will be available for you. The hire cost is £28 per item.
If you would like some provision like tea, coffee, milk, bread, etc to be available on arrival at the villa you can order a Welcome Pack which is paid for before you arrive. The cost is approximately £30 and it saves you having to find a supermarket on your way from the airport.
The management team can organise babysitters and/or chefs that charge per hour - if you are interested in this please let us know how many babysitters and/or chefs you think you will need, for what days and (in the case of babysitters) for what age of children. We'll then ask the management team to provide us with a quote for you.
Cleaning & Laundry Service: The villa is fully cleaned before you arrive and all beds are made up and ready. Each week there is a mid week towel change and light clean. A full linen and towel change happens every 7 days and the villa is fully cleaned after your departure.
If you would like maid service daily this can be arrange but is an extra cost.

The villa is part of a new village, AlmaVerde, which is set in amongst a Nature Reserve so ideal for walks and bike rides. There are still a few villas being built around the village but the majority are finished. The AlmaVerde website will give you some up to date information on what there is to offer and what is in the pipeline and, of course, we will let you know if there is anything happening in the vicinity. The villas immediately to the side and in front of this villa are all built and we have been told that there are no works in the immediate vicinity.
The management team have an office on site and we'll give you the telephone numbers and office hours to take with you. We also give you a full inventory for the property so that you can check through it on arrival if you wish - if there is anything missing (or anything extra!) we definitely like to know!
