Home description
This is a beautiful villa which has lots of space both inside and out. Very much home from home the villa has been decorated and furnished with families in mind so there are lots of comfy chairs, books, games, a DVD, CD player and a TV. If the sun gets too hot the house has a cool house system but even without it remains cool throughout the day. There's a big garden at the back of the property with a very good sized heated swimming pool and lots of garden furniture to lie on in the sun.
For evening and day time dining the villa has a big patio terrace and pergola which each have a table & chairs, and the view from here looks out across the surrounding countryside. To the front of the property is a private driveway and car port with parking for up to 4 cars, and finally the house has an alarm for added security.
The on site management team is able to organise nannies or babysitters as well as a chef should you require.

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Western Algarve is a very beautiful and relatively unspoilt part of the Algarve which makes it very peaceful and great for walking or cycling. There are lots of sandy beaches to be found, some more popular and some that are so secluded that only local knowledge or a chance find will take you there.
The weather is your typical blue sky, bright sunshine weather which can start from the end of February onwards although you could never call it particularly cold during the day at any time of the year. The 2007 summer continued right on into December with temperatures up in the early 20's - perfect for winter summer holidays or golfing getaways.
There is normally a light breeze in the Western Algarve, which takes away the heat, and during the summer the evenings are still really warm.
Lagos / Burgau area
AlmaVerde
The village itself has a Wellness Centre which offers a range of treatments and therapies that can be booked. For 2008 they are also offering some package deals for those who want a week of pampering. There are all sorts of therapies to offer and the management team will let you know well in advance of the pricing, etc. There is also a juice and sandwich bar in this Centre who can make up fresh sandwiches and snacks.
Also on the village are floodlit tennis courts and all the equipment can be hired from the management company at the reception office. Please note that AlmaVerde is an ongoing development and although many of the villas are built there are some that are still under construction.
Golf
Boa Vista & Parc da Floresta are both within 5 minutes and it may be possible to get a discount on fees if you book through the management company at AlmaVerde. Other courses close by are Palmares, Alto and Penina.
Burgau
A really lovely little fishing village with a sandy beach under a 5 minute drive from the villa. There is a beach bar / restaurant and a cafe which does fantastic cooked breakfasts!
Lagos
Lagos is about 10 mins by car and it has everything you would want from a town. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the centre of Lagos and on certain days there is a market. Lagos has a marina and another attraction is the very long beach of Meia Praia where you can hire pedalos, go water skiing, banana boating and other water sport activities.
Restaurants
Although there are no restaurants within walking distance at the moment there are some nearby. Apart from Burgau there are 3 restaurants in Salema, 10 mins away, (one highly recommended by locals) and lots in Lagos. The management team can put you in contact with a private catering company if you wanted to eat in but have the luxury of food being prepared for you.
Family Activities
Apart from the beaches there are water parks nearby (Splash & Slide) and you can take the glass bottomed boat for a tour of the area. About 5 mins down the road is a riding school and if you wanted to go biking we can arrange for bikes to be available for you at the villa.

How to get there
Faro airport is approximately 50 minutes drive from the property and airlines such as Monarch, EasyJet, BA and TAP Portugal provide flights.
Directions from the airport to the villa are simple:
- Follow the A22 toward Lagos - Take the exit at Junction1 (signposted Vila do Bispo & Lagos) - Take the EN125 toward Vila do Bispo and drive into AlmaVerde Village at the Burgau traffic lights.

Further details
A Welcome Pack can be provided for your arrival which contains the basic provisions until you can get to a supermarket - please ask for more details. This pack costs 45 € / £35 and is payable in advance 8 weeks before your stay.
If you would like to hire cot beds or high chairs the cost is 35€ / £28 per item per week payable in advance 8 weeks before your stay.
If you would like to hire an extra bed (fold away bed) these can be hired at a cost of 70€ / £56 per item per week payable in advance 8 weeks before your stay.
Conditions
25% of the full rental amount is due immediately in order to secure the booking.
The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the booking and this includes any extras that you have ordered.
At this time a £200 deposit covering any breakages or damages is also due - this amount is refundable and returned within 28 days of your return after we have received the full check out report from the management team.
Even though we receive a check out report we do ask that renters please let us or the management team know of any breakages that may happen during your stay.
