About the home

Wonderful single story spacious air conditioned 2 bed bungalow apartment, with dream ocean views. Very homely - has a good feel! On a quiet well established golf/holiday complex, (built 2001), overlooking sea-water quiet communal pool, 2 minutes walk to sea, 5 mins drive to sandy beach, or 20 min coastal walk. Supermarket and shops etc 5 mins drive.. Golf range on site. Ideal for families, couples and singles. A real treasure to be discovered!
5 mins to national park, with unspoilt beaches and coves. Lagos 15 mins drive away - with its old town - with character, and marina... and extensive beaches.
Double and twin bedrooms and living room (with chair / bed option), all overlooking the sea.
Furnished with a Portuguese flavour, there is a flat screen TV with BBC, ITV, and this apartment has a real homely feel. Guests have said they could live here, With 2 bathrooms, and air conditioning in the bedrooms, new beds, and sounds of the sea at night, you should sleep very well! There is central heating for the winter

Garden terrace - south facing, and overlooking the sea and pool, is very pleasant for al fresco meals. On site you will find a restaurant, pool bar and soon-to-be-opened golf course, although there is already a golf range. . There are complimentary cycles for hire subject to availabilty.

There is a very pleasant coastal footpath to Luz and Burgau sandy beaches, with shops, bars and restaurants. Lagos 8km away (by taxi, car or local bus) lagos offers most of the usual holiday attractions and facilities.

LCD TV with some English/European channels. Air conditioning in both bedrooms. Fully equipped and made to feel like home. New matresses 2010, and the double is top of range. We especially want guests to enjoy this idyllic location, as we have done ourselves everytime we go. A favourite location. Any suggestions are always welcome too. Its the kind of place to revisit year after year, if only for a long weekend. Feedback has been excellent and several guests have already made their fourth visits! Cot on request (at cost)
The apartments on site vary in standards and presentation. We have tried hard to present this well.

Further details outdoors:
Parking immediately outside (own space), Lovely lawn with shrubs, plants outside in front of large pool, overlooking sea. This is on a quiet established holiday complex, with reception and staff onsite to assist. There is a pool bar, and also a restaurant on site. And an onsite 9 hole golf course is planned. Driving range open.
You probably need a car for convenience, although not essential as guests have used buses that stop outside the complex 1.2km away, or taxis, or walked along the coast. Bikes available to hire.

Property has 6 steps down to the door, so care needed if you are infirm. OK for children as plenty for them to do within 15 mins drive, and they can play around pool area, although non swimmers must take care. Few children here out of season.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

Algarve has a good deal of sunshine year round, 6 hrs/ day in winter average, except this last winter 2011/12 which was exceptionally sunny! It has a slightly English feel about it, and some may say homely. Nice and clean, tidy, with lots of local crafts,.. amazing beaches, and mostly unspoilt towards the west of Lagos, which brings you into the national park. Mountains inland for a change of scenery. This is a particulary attractive area of the Algarve, not so commercialised, and retains a lot of character, with beautiful coastal scenery.

The Lagos / Burgau area

Lagos for its eateries, local character, and marina. Several surrounding villages with their own uniqueness. Quaint fishing villages too, coves and harbours. Very romantic!

Lagos has a large marina, cobbled streets, quaint bars but also popular night clubs. There are various golf courses nearby. Also waterparks, zoo, bowling, cinemas, dolphin watching.

Mountain drives half an hour away, where you can buy freshly picked oranges and local handicrafts.

There is a webcam in Burgau which you can check what the weather is like and also tell your friends to look on the Internet to see you enjoying yourself.

• Fly to Faro - Very easy, frequent, cheap flights....especially if booked 6wks+ in advance and midweek outside school hols. ** I am more than happy to check out best flight deals for anyone. Several airlines incl. BA, Easyjet, RyanAir, Aerlingus, and Monarch is good too, with in flight hot meals, and good seats. Car Hire or Taxi..... all bookable online too......very easy, I normally use Argus Car Hire.or Travel Supermarket. ...
• Its a fast 1 hour drive, mainly along a quiet motorway, and 5km off motorway near Lagos.
Situated on the coast in between Luz (2km) and Burgau (3km) and 8km West of Lagos. 1km through entrance to 'Porto Dona Maria'. (Bus stop outside)

“Beautiful views, peaceful location!” We stayed in this lovely apartment with two young children for 9 nights in August. We found the property spacious and very clean. We arrived to find complimentary food and drinks to get us started. The views from the terrace were stunning, overlooking the pools and ocean. We found the apartment and surroundings to be child friendly. Our 5 year old loved jumping and splashing in the different pools while the shallow area was perfect for our 2 year old. The apartment is in a quiet complex, away from the tourist crowds. We hired a car, which is recommended, and this allowed us to visit the gorgeous surrounding beaches, splash park, and local towns/villages. The property is about an hour's drive from Faro airport but the route is fast and straight forward. There is a lovely coastal walk to Luz town and beach which took about 20-30 mins as we stopped to take in the views along the way - although this wouldn't be pram friendly (unless you have an all-terrain buggy!). Plenty of towels provided so no need to take your own. Instant hot water. Great pressure in the showers! Overall we had a great time here and would recommend it. Only downside was no WiFi.

“Great place to spend a week” The house is very confortable and it has a dream view. All the family enjoyed the swimming pool and the long walks along the coast.

“great loacation” apartment is lovely well furnished and clean,great views fron the sitting room,comfortable and the aircondition is a grat advantge for those hot day. Pool is huge and the view fromit is spectatular, a relaxing place and a place worth spending a few weeks, a lovely walk in to Luz by the coast line.The only advice is that you need a car to travel around supermarket is about 5 mins by car.
