Quinta Bavaria is an extensive villa set in 2.5 acres of peaceful gardens and grounds with a fabulous heated pool. The villa comprises five private, self-contained apartments, 3 on the ground floor, 2 upstairs, each with a patio or terrace overlooking the gardens.
The three 2-bedroom and two 1-bedroom apartments are individually designed and furnished to a high standard, each offering villa-style space and comfort, fully equipped kitchens, air conditioned bedrooms and free WiFi.
Quinta Bavaria is the perfect family holiday home in which to relax and get away from it all in peaceful countryside surroundings with easy access to the shops, restaurants and nightlife in the busy picturesque marina town of Lagos (10 mins by car). Meia Praia, a long stretch of clean, golden sand with several excellent beach bars and watersports, is 5 minutes by car. Boat trips to see dolphins in the wild, several water slide parks, scuba diving, a Zoo Marine attractions park with the option to SWIM WITH DOLPHINS, several excellent golf courses and a zoo are just some of the nearby attractions to keep the whole family entertained.
Back at Quinta Bavaria the children will love exploring the safe and fenced grounds, playing ball games on the extensive lawn or picking fruit from the orange and lemon trees, leaving parents free to relax on a sunbed by the heated pool.
Evenings can be spent dining by moonlight on your own patio or there is a poolside seating and picnic area.
Colin, Sue and our young son Ben live in an adjacent villa. We lovingly maintain the property year round and our aim is to do everything we can to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible without being part of your holiday.

The property itself is surrounded by 2.5 acres of mature gardens and colourful flower boxes with a large area of lawn towards which all the apartments face. Beyond a rockery boasting some enormous cacti is the orchard, which contains a variety of trees including oranges, lemons, grapefruit, walnuts, pomegranate, plums and more. These are offered complimentary to all guests, as are home grown vegetables, when in season.
The heated pool measures 10m x 5m and is fenced off from the apartments and garden. It is surrounded by both terraced and grassed sunbathing areas with sun umbrellas, chairs and comfortable loungers from which to enjoy the unspoilt views towards the Monchique hills.
The property is reached from the main road by a country lane (tarmac) which then continues towards the beach. Inside the gates, the Quinta is approached by a long gravel driveway lined with trees, at the end of which there is plenty of parking space. The perimetre is well fenced and hedged. Quinta Bavaria has been praised by birdwatchers for the number of species seen whilst simply sitting on the patio! The surrounding area provides habitat to an abundance of bird and wildlife and is perfect for walkers, ramblers and birdwatchers alike.

Towels and linen are provided, although guests should bring their own beach/pool towels. There is a weekly maid service during stays of more than 1 week. A complimentary welcome pack of groceries is provided - enjoy a light snack and relax by the pool before having to shop.
Pool heating is included in the price from 1 April to 31 October. It can be requested at other times of the year for an extra charge.
A cot, highchair and baby car seat are all available free of charge. Golf clubs are available for hire.
All guests have free access to a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The Algarve region
Local activities within a 10 minute drive include horse riding, tennis, golf, bowls, sailing, boat trips, dolphin watching, deep sea fishing, jeep safaris, scuba diving and microlighting, to mention but a few. The countryside immediately surrounding the Quinta is a paradise for birdwatchers and walkers alike.
A little further afield, on the road to the fishing village of Burgau, there is a sports centre offering tennis, squash, aerobics and a gym. There are two waterslide parks within easy reach and a visit to the Zoo Marine park is a must - swim with dolphin in a safe, controlled environment.
A short drive north-west through the picturesque countryside leads to the wild and rugged West coast where deserted, secluded beaches can still be found even in the height of summer. A drive inland from Odiáxere through olive groves and eucalyptus trees leads to the crystal clear waters of the Bravura Dam. A trip to Monchique with its picturesque spa town takes about 45 minutes through scenic countryside. A little further on is Foia, the highest point on the Algarve, where cool mountain air brings relief from the sun-drenched beaches and from where the views are spectacular. Discover villages in the area which have remained untouched for centuries.
With its castle walls, narrow, cobbled streets, pottery shops and numerous pavement cafes from which to watch the world go by, Lagos has a relaxed atmosphere and quiet charm, making it one of the most appealing locations in the Algarve.
The ancient castle walls , built in the 16th century, used to completely surround the city, but most of Lagos and its walls were destroyed in the great earthquake of 1755. At the entrance to the harbour, the recently restored 17th Century fortress is worth a visit. Heading west from the fortress, a scenic cliff top path stretches for several miles along a string of tiny beaches and rock formations, offering beautiful views of the coastline along the way. To the East, across the river, is 4km long Meia Praia beach. Long ago, many naval battles were fought in its bay.
