The Villa is in a quiet area, in the Western Algarve - on a site which is having new facilities added as the development expands.

The Algarve / West Algarve region
AlmaVerde is towards the Western end of the Algarve, situated in a private development, approximately 60 minutes by motorway to Faro airport. The new motorway has opened up the whole of the Algarve within a reasonable drive time. Only about 10 minutes or so away is colourful Lagos, the launching point for Portugal’s epic voyages of discovery. It is a place with old ways of living, existing side by side with modernity and tradition.
Lagos / Burgau area
AlmaVerde is in a 36 hectare landscaped rural setting among mature oak, pine and carob trees in the heart of the Western Algarve. The site enjoys an elevated position with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside. To the North, the site overlooks the traditional village of Barão de São Miguel, and to the South, the Burgau valley and coastal hills. The beach at the picturesque fishing village of Burgau is just three minutes by car, while the historic port of Lagos, with its colourful markets, attractive marina and vibrant nightlife, is only ten minutes away
Being 3km from the seafront, AlmaVerde has fantastic countryside views, and is ideal for a break whether you wish to relax on the beach or the privacy of your own pool, enjoy the local food and drink or be more active with watersports, horseriding, walking or playing golf. The complex is located close to Parque de Floresta and Boa Vista golf courses and within easy driving of most of the famous Algarve golf courses (31 in all!). The location is ideal for all the family being close to - the beach, Zoomarine and two water parks
Whilst staying in Almavered it is especially worthwhile visiting the beach and restaurants of Burgau, while there are many other beaches also is very short distance.
By car it is only: - 60 min from Faro airport. - 15 min from Zoomarine. - 5 min from Beach. - 20 min from Slide & Splash water park. - 10 km from Nearest Golf Course.

It also contained all essential items required for a self-catering holiday. Everything had been thought of. The pool and garden were amazing. Although the village is still undergoing development this did not cause us any problems. The staff at the administration office were extremely helpful. "The villa is absolutely top drawer! - it's just so bright and airy, and very tastefully furnished. I particularly liked being able to open the double patio doors that opened onto the garden / pool. It was lovely to sit around the meal table, chatting away into the late evening and looking out through the patio doors with the pool lights on. With a wife and two daughters it was such a godsend that every bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. To sit out on the bedroom balcony with a coffee and take in the morning sun was just heaven! The private pool got so much use. It was great to sit out on the patio and take in the lovely landscaping before taking another dip to cool off a bit! There's even a BBQ which got quite a lot of use. It's only a few minutes drive from Burgau, this delightful little fishing village was just the icing on the cake! Relatively unspoilt by tourism, it has a lovely sandy beach and friendly places to eat fresh sea food and of course chicken piri piri; and those lovely narrow little meandering streets, lined with the distinctive traditional whitewashed walls and terracotta roofs, too narrow for cars.
