Encosta da Marina is located just two minutes' walk from the main Marina where you will find many excellent restaurants and bars. Quiet and peaceful, yet only five to ten minutes from the the main town Lagos. The sandy beach is nearby and stretches for miles with many watersports on hand.
The apartment has easy access to all amenities, including the local Supermarket, Bus & Train terminal, Hire Car, Banks etc.
Furnished to a very High Standard the Apartment has everything that you would want thereby making your stay a relaxing and comfortable one.
The apartment benefits from gated gardens with shared pool, with a smaller pool perfect for the children. Leading from the living room is a spacious balcony with garden views, furnished with a large Rattan table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. With one double and two twin bedrooms, the apartment is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.
July & August. being the hotter months and temperatures can reach up to 30degress with September temperatures reaching around 25. However there are umbrella's, sunbeds by the pool and shade on the Terrace.
Palmares 18 hole Golf course is nearby with stunning views over the Sea. It is newly refurbished and is a pleasure to play.

Leading from the Lounge Patio doors is a large Sun Terrace overlooking the gardens. The terrace has a large circular Rattan glass table with 6 comfy chairs, ideal for those lazy evenings watching the sun go down while dining outside. There are 2 Pools, one large with a mushroom fountain and the other for smaller children. The Pool is surrounded by gardens and Sun Loungers/Parasols. There are showers and toilets/disabled on site. It is gated entry with a key pad. Only available to those using the apartments.
Parking is available outside the apartment.

Flexible change over. Guests are requested to vacate by 10am and arrive by 3pm - it may be possible to extend these times if no arrivals are due.

Prices are based on 6 people sharing.
A 25% non refundable deposit is payable when making the reservation.
Final payment required 10 weeks prior to your stay.
A £200 refundable Security/Damage Deposit is required with your final payment to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Payments can be made by PayPal however there is a 5% charge on top if you wish to use that facility.
Payments can be made in Euro's using Bank Transfer.

Lagos Zoo is a fun place to take the children and watch them feed the animals and is only a short drive away. The waterparks and Slide and Splash are approximately a 30 minute drive. You can pre book your tickets in the town. The surrounding Coast with golden cliffs that plunge into the clear calm waters is an indescribable beauty. There are many beautiful beaches nearby all within a 30 minute drive. Meia Praia is our local beach and will take you approximately 5/10 minutes depending on how quickly you walk. The beach stretches for miles with many local bars and restaurants. Various watersports are available plus Paragliding for the more daring. Our local supermarket is a short walk away where you will find everything that you need. Many boat trips are organised from the Marina, you can swim with the Dolpins, go fishing or explore the local caves. All can be arranged from the Marina or the Town. For the girls that like to shop til they drop why not try out the new shopping centre in Portimao where you will find many great shops including a few favourites at much cheaper prices.
The Lagos / Meia Praia area
Lagos is steeped in history and much of this is evident around the town. There are lots of different eating places whether you want traditional or the local curry house you will find it in Lagos. The Fish is fresh and delicious and with many varieties you must try them all. Sardines and fresh bread is a local favourite along with the local wine. Lots of local entertainment both in the town and the Marina.
Why not take part in the Sardine Festival in Portimao. How many Sardines can you eat? Great fun to watch, or just wander around. It is a huge open air festival with live bands, music and many stalls selling food, crafts and more. This is normally in July however the dates do change.
Plenty of Banks near by if you need to change money you will need to take your passport with you.

Many airlines fly into Portugal, Easy Jet, Monarch & TAP are a few. Faro Airport is a 50 minute drive with a toll charge of approximately 6 Euros if using the A22. Lisbon Airport 2.30 - 3 hours away. If using the motorway from Lisbon there is a toll charge of approximately 30 Euros in total. Faro Town Centre - Lagos Train Station or Bus Terminal is close by. Train being 5 minutes walking distance and Bus Terminal 5-10 minutes walk. There is a bus stop nearby therefore a car is not essential.

The apartment was fantastic and had everything we needed for a very comfortable hassle free stay. The pool area was great and very close and child friendly. We were also very close to cafes, restaurants, bars and the supermarket. The food at the restaurants was fantastic and very reasonably priced. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised by how inexpensive this holiday was. 8 to 10 Euros for lunch per person and 1.50 to 6 euros for a bottle of wine in the supermarket. If we didn't feel like going out the apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable night in with a home cooked meal. With U.K. T.V , a DVD player and free wifi. The area was safe for young children and the two 18 year old teenage girls with us were able to go out to clubs and bars with no problems. A very safe and crime free area. We would certainly come back again and have recommended the apartment and Marina area to friends and family. I would not change anything. Our deposit was back in our account within a few days of our return and both Kim the apartment owner and her local representative Sandra could not have been nicer or more helpful. The apartment was beautifully (but still practically) furnished. A lot of thought has gone into making your stay as pleasurable as possible (ie beach towels supplied which do take up a valuable chunk of your luggage weight allowance!). The kitchen was extremely well-equipped (the coffee machine was a much appreciated added bonus!) The rooms were spacious and beds very comfy. The balcony was also spacious and shady which is a welcome relief when you 've been in the sun all day. There was plenty of maps and leaflets for days out and restaurants. Even though it was height of the season when we went - the pool was lovely and quiet - there only seemed to be a handful of people each time we went so we could easily get sunbeds (they were comfy too!) We were delighted that the apartment was so accessible to the main beach and other smaller beaches, plus the marina, the old town and a large supermarket. We didn't hire a car and were pleased that one was not necessary at all. The only slight problem we had was getting through the main door of the apartment block - not sure if it was the key or the lock but there was a definite "knack" to it! The Housekeeper, Sandra, was the perfect person to meet and greet you - she was very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. I would recommend the Seafaris Dolphin watching - it was fantastic!! We did a 3 hour Kayak trip to the Grottoes and a beautiful deserted beach - only undertake this trip if you are strong, have stamina and don't get sea sick!!! All in all - fantastic apartment and fantastic holiday - would definitely recommend. |
