The Algarve / West Algarve region

The famous walled town of Lagos has become popular with its new marina and markets.However, Lagos has kept its traditional character and is renowned for its famous fortress, walled town, fish market and many shops and restaurants catering for all tastes. Ther are many activites, including festivals in the town centre.Boat trips to the famous grottos are recommended as well as a visit to the famous Lagos Zoo. Within a short distance are many quiet beaches with high quality beach restaurants. The more active can venture to the surfing beaches on the west coast, or visit nearer, small beach resorts such as Luz, Bergau and Salema.
For the golf enthusiast there are many excellent golf courses nearby, such as Palmares,Penina and Parc de Florets.


Lagos / Boavista area

There are regular festivals and concerts in Lagos, as well as regular markets. Lagos Zoo is well worth a visit. The high resort of Monchique is worth a visit for the superb views of the whole Algarve coast.
The area to the west of Lagos is now a National Park and provides wonderful views of coast and sea all the way to the west coast,where you will find unspoilt beaches and some of the best surfing conditions in Europe.


How to get there

Fly to Faro by BA or Monarch Scheduled Airlines or by Charter Flights from many Charter Airlines such as Easy Jet etc. The Boavista Resort is a 45 minute drive from Faro Airport. Many Car Rental Agencies work out of Faro Airport including Hertz, Avis and budget Car Rental Agencies such as Zit Autos.The new Motorway will take you all the way to Lagos and the Motorway exit is located no more that 4 kilometers from the Resort entrance.

There is private parking and even a garage. The Resort provides full security 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Full maid service is provided as standard. The Resort boasts a Championship standard quality golf course. There is a driving range, golf academy and large practice area. The Golf Clubhouse provides drinks and snacks and also has a high quality restaurant which provides a superb quality of local foods.
In the Resort is a private swimming pool for the exclusive use of owners and guests, a children's' play area and tennis courts.
The Championship Golof Course is highly rated and will suit players of all standards. The course has a number of superb holes.The course winds its a way towards the Atlantic Ocean, providing excellent views of the sea and the nearby town of Luz..
The Boavista Resort has now benefitted enormously with the completion, in late 2007, of a brand new and impressive Clubhouse which provides a top quality restaurant, Golf reception and shop.The new Clubhouse also incorporates an indoor swimming pool complex together with a Health Club providing a range of services. Guests can acquire a membership for as long as they wish ,either for a part, or the whole, of their stay at Boavista
