Are you looking for something different? Casa Funchal is a unique farmhouse style, spacious single story villa. Full of charm and character, both inside and out. Ideal for 2 family occupation or large groups when using the full 5 bedrooms. There is a large private heated pool surrounded by mature trees and large terraces. A unique covered barbecue area with separate kitchen for al-fresco dining.
Casa Funchal is situated on the top of the exclusive Funchal ridge with panoramic views, to the Monchique mountains and across the Algarve to Alvor Bay.
The villa offers a great deal of peace and tranquility and yet being only 4km. from Praia da Luz Bay and Lagos town with their beautiful sandy beaches and a 20 minute drive from the rugged west coast, famous for surfing.
On entering the private cobbled lane you will find an enclave of 5 private villas each in it's own mature grounds and giving a great deal of privacy. There you will find Casa Funchal set in it's own grounds with many different areas for those who wish to find some peace and quiet .
The secluded pool area and gardens area perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, perfect for sun bathing or sipping a nice cool drink in the afternoon sitting in a shaded cool place under the veranda reading or taking an afternoon siesta.
Set in an environment of beautifully mature trees including olive, almond, palm and cork oaks as well as other flora and fauna, Casa Funchal is an ideal group holiday villa which oozes an atmosphere of rest and relaxation.
The kitchen is fitted with Tuscan distressed pine units with granite work surfaces, it is equipped with all the modern amenities including oven, hob, large fridge and freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
The Villa is all on ground level with a total area of 260 sq. Mt. With the occasional steps to the different levels, it is full of charm and character with it's natural clay floor tiles and pine ceilings and centered around the open plan kitchen area with archways through to the dining area and the cosy lounge. The living area is around 80 sq. Mt. And gives ample space for large family's / groups.
The south facing private pool terrace is accessible from various parts of the villa, including, lounge , bathroom, bedrooms,hallway and BBQ kitchen.
The heated pool is accessed by five steps,leading to the shallow end being 1mt deepand gradually slopes to 1.6mt at the deeper end. There are spectacular extensive views to the Monchique mountains, from the pool area. The pool terrace is ideal for those long balmy evenings ,and is stunningly lit at night
The 10 x 5 metre heated swimming pool has 6 large solar panels , the average summer temperature of the water is between 26 - 32 degrees c and in mid - low season 24- 28degrees .
Normally ,when using the pool cover ,it is warm enough to swim from mid March until the end of October or longer. There are underwater lights for those who like a midnight dip before bed.
The traditional Portuguese style BBQ is next to the al-fresco dining area and has direct access to the second
kitchen complete with sink and fridge, guests can spend most of the day and evening in the open air.
The south facing pool & garden terrace area is very private and leads itself to natural sun bathing for those
who love an all over tan.
The 5 spacious bedrooms consist of 1 master bedroom with en-suit , 2 twin rooms with 2 single beds in
each, 1 Family room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. Several of the bedrooms have direct access to the pool area, ideal for those who want to drink their coffee and catch the early morning sun.

A 30% deposit is required to secure a booking the final payment is required 8 weeks prior to arrival .
Saturday is changeover day in high season we can be flexible in mid and low season .
A £200-00 or 200 Euro cash security deposit is required on arrival and will be returned within 2 weeks of departure.
The Algarve region
The Western Algarve is famous for it's clean air, traditional food and wine, and historic beauty spots but of course, it's most popular attractions are it's huge range of beaches and exploring the rugged West Coast's secret coves either by boat trip or by car and making the most of the Atlantic's rolling surf, we're sure you will find these beaches the most beautiful in the Algarve.
Lagos has a good night life and there are plenty of sporting activities to choose from , Boat and fishing trips from Lagos harbour and the water sports are favourate with many torists apart from the numerious glof courses .
The old fish market has been restored in traditional fashion but now includes all modern hygiene standards and provides high quality fresh fish ,fruit &veg and meat along with the home made piri piri .sweets & Almond cakes.
Lagos has a myriad of cafés and restaurants spilling onto the street giving you a fantastic entertained by busker's and street artists.

"Lovely, peaceful location - homely well equipped villa"
Two families with three teenagers apiece stayed at Casa Funchal. The pool, outside area and wifi were all the youngsters needed. Having two large fridges, bar b q area and plenty of bathrooms also helped. The villa had great living/ dining space and a kitchen equipped with the right size pans for a large group (not something I've always found in big villas). We found the place very clean when we arrived. The owners were welcoming and helpful through out our stay when we needed anything.
A car is definitely needed, there is little available within walking distance, but that is why it was so peaceful and picturesque. The town and shops were within ten minutes drive, as were the many beaches to choose from.
Thank you for your review, The villa is great for large groups/ extended family's, almost everyone loves its character, Not a new villa but very homely.

"Fantastic location for a relaxing break"
The villa is beautiful; large and spacious and deliciously cool when the heat outside is too much. There are plenty of sun loungers outside and there is always somewhere in the garden that is in shade as well as plenty of sunny areas to take your pick from. The owners live a very short distance away and could not be more helpful and friendly, but not intrusive in any way. The villa was clean when we arrived, and a cleaner came along on the middle weekend to clean and change the sheets and towels. All in all, a fabulous holiday that we will be repeating again in the not to distant future!
