About the home

Our exclusive apartments at Vila Praia Dona Ana are located in the beautiful town of Lagos, within minutes from the famous Praia Dona Ana beach, the old historic town, superb restaurants and supermarkets. This three storey elegant complex catches your attention with beautifully manicured gardens, and a swimming pool all nestled within a walled sun terrace, elevated from the roadside. Ideal setting for a family to enjoy both the adult and kids pool in a secure environment. Recently-built apartment has air-conditioning/heating, modern furnishings and appliances. Rooms are spacious, bright and have large windows with electric blinds. Our apartment is luxuriously decorated, providing a warm vacation ambiance. From the front balcony you can relax on our elegant sage green garden furniture and enjoy a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance, with its wonderful blend of turquoise colours. Sip on a glass of fine port or enjoy a tasty meal as you count the variety of boats floating by.

Our clients tell us that both our properties are much bigger than these photos suggest.

For groups 4-15 contact us as we have access to two other apartments in the same complex.

Property Manager: We have a local property manager in Lagos, so you will have someone to personally meet you, to provide you with the key, and to answer any questions during your holiday period.
Maid service with towels and bed linen changed weekly.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The weather in the Algarve is warm year-round, enjoying approximately 300 days of sunshine, with fairly steady temperatures. On hot summer days in July and August, the Atlantic offers a refreshing cool down. On most days of the year, the windward Western Algarve provides a nice breeze. Evenings are usually cooler and comfortable with a sweater or light jacket. Winter evenings are a littler cooler, so bring a fleece and windbreaker or leather jacket.

The Algarve is rich in history as it was the launchpad for all of the famous Portuguese explorers back in the 15th Century. The historic forts and castles blend nicely with the beaches and warm weather to allow you to do as much or as little as you wish during your holidays.

The Lagos / Dona Ana area

From our apartment enjoy a short walk to the old historic and picturesque seaside town, as well as the sandy beaches and cliffs surrounding Ponte de Piedade. You really must devote a day to roaming around the old town. There is an abundance of historical sites and intricate architecture. The endless pedestrian streets with outdoor restaurants and coffee shops and of course the boutique shops are sure to round out your day. The number and variety of day-trips available to suit your taste are truly endless. Our favourite excursions will give you a sampling of the sights across the regions of the Algarve. From your Lagos home-base, each of these short expeditions can be comfortably completed within a day, and will heighten your love for the Algarve and for Portugal. Recommended day excursions: Sagres/Cape St. Vincente, Aljezur Coast, Monchique, Silves, Albufeira, Guadiana River, Spanish Border/Tavira. Several of the Algarve’s 21+ golf courses are within 5-35 minutes away by car.

“Outstanding accommodation and location!” The accommodations were simply first class, with a stunning view of the Atlantic where we spent our pre-dinner time winding down and enjoying the sail boats and ocean liners floating under a clear blue, cloudless sky. The location of the apartment is ideal, with short walking distance to the old town, a multitude of restaurants, and breath taking cliffs and beaches. We would, and are, recommending your apartment as a “must” for a safe and enjoyable stay in Lagos.

“Large apartment” Testimonial: It was a great holiday. It was our third consecutive year in the Lagos area so we're getting to know it quite well now. The apartment was simply huge- we were very impressed with the size and quality. The location of the apartment was superb. Close enough to walk to town and the beaches, but far enough out for the local restaurants to serve meals at €2-€3 per person cheaper.

“Well equipped, spacious apartment” Stayed a week in June and enjoyed ourselves very much. Apartment was comfortable and even bigger than expected. It was very well equipped and the property manager extremely helpful. The owner also provided a huge range of information leaflets about restaurants, activities and places to visit in Lagos and other areas in Portugal.

We were very happy with the apartment, it was clean and well kept, there was a lot of light and space. The location was superb, near the beach and old town. Also thank you very much for your kind tips and all the holiday info you provided - we have never seen such a folder full of useful information that you have in the apartment!! All in all, we had a totally enjoyable week. Thank you for referring us to LagoRent - the rate was very good, all went well and the car was new and suitable for us. If (and when) we decide to spend some time in the Algarve again, I will most definately contact you!

This was our second trip to Lagos and Dona Ana and it seemed even better than our first experience. Your well-equipped, well-appointed and spacious apartment offers the perfect base for exploring Lagos and the many surrounding coastal and mountain villages. Your attention to detail and prompt response to any and every request or inquiry make for a worry-free vacation. I can't imagine growing tired of the beauty and history of the area. We want to thank you for providing such excellent accommodations for our first Portugal vacation. I know we will return, probably not next winter, but sometime in the future. We were impressed with the detail and efficiency of your Dona Ana 2 apartment. We lacked nothing to make our home away from home complete. Well, except for access to the internet, but we found a great German Cafe nearby where we could go every day to check our mail, etc. The weather was not great for the first 10 days, but we did enjoy great sunshine after that and spent some good hours sun bathing at the pool and reading on the deck. We also took advantage of the best days to go to the beaches. We ate good food and drank good wine. That's what vacation is all about. Right? We loved the Thai restaurant "Lemon Grass" and at Don Toro's we had some fabulous meals. Our side trip to Seville was also a highlight. Thanks again for the "Simply Lagos Experience".

Utility Charges (Nov-Mar)): Winter Rates exclude Utilities, charged at cost based on usage (i.e. Electricity and Gas).

Supplemental Charges: Please be careful with your air-conditioner/heater/water usage to avoid or minimize extra charges. Electricity and gas are pricey in Portugal. Meter reading taken before and after your stay will determine any excess charges.

All directions and contact info for our local Property Manager will be in your Info package, which I will mail to you as we near your departure.
