About the home

The villa is located in a semi-rural setting adjacent to Algarvian countryside. Approached by a private drive, it sits in a lovely large plot with mature gardens featuring flowering shrubs, olive, fig and almond trees. The whole situation is quiet, peaceful, secluded and private despite being only minutes away from beach, shops, marina, bars and restaurants. The villa sleeps 8/9 people in 4 twin / double bedrooms – two with en-suite bathrooms. The living rooms are on the ground floor and the bedrooms and three bathrooms are upstairs.

There are fine, panoramic views from the two balconies with glimpses of the sea with views of the Monchique mountains to the rear. The delightful, historic town of Lagos, the 2-mile long sandy beach of Meia Praia and the nearest supermarket are all only 5 minutes drive away. There is a 10 x 5m private swimming pool with a cover that raises the water temperature by at least 5 degrees. There is also a games room with table tennis, pool table, table football, an exercise bike and step aerobics.

NEW for 2012: Child friendly features include optional Pool Safety Fencing, safe and secure off street parking in private drive, fully fenced gardens, cot with bedding, high chair, stairgate, steriliser, baby alarm, baby bath, potty, toddler loo seat, table booster seat, plastic crockery and cutlery pool inflatables, toys and games.

The villa is built with a conventional arrangement - the living rooms are on the ground floor and the 4 bedrooms are upstairs. The two double bedrooms both have en-suites with showers and one has a bath as well. The living room is divided into sitting and dining areas, both of which are spacious and well equipped. There is a large sunny family kitchen with breakfast table.

Large games room with table tennis, pool table and table football. There is also an exercise bike and step aerobics.

Family friendly features include Cot with bedding, high chair, stairgate, steriliser, baby alarm, baby bath, potty, toddler loo seat, table booster seat, plastic crockery and cutlery, selection of toys and games.

Further details outdoors:
Outside there is a large covered terrace with a table for eight and an extra seating area. A BBQ is provided. There is a 10m x 5m pool with a pool terrace which is spacious, open and sunny and surrounded by lovely gardens. There is a pool cover which typically raises the water temperature by 5 degrees. in May, you can expect water temperature of 25 degrees plus; in June up to 30 degreesand July / August even higher.

If you have very young children there is an option to hire a pool safety fence at a small extra fee

The property has its own gated drive with plenty of parking next to the front door. The gardens are fenced all round.

N.B. There is a little black cat (Menina) at the villa. She doesn’t live indoors but outside in an outbuilding and she is fed by the cleaners. She is very affectionate and always wants to make friends with everyone – in fact most of our guests have fallen in love with her...

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Western Algarve is not only the most western part of Europe - it is practically the southernmost part as well. This means the climate is about as good as you will get anywhere in mainland Europe.

Average daytime temperatures range from 22 degrees Celsius in May to 30 degrees in August, with temperatures still at 26 degrees in September and typically 22 degrees in October.

Average hours of sunlight: 12 hrs a day throughout the summer. Rainfall in July and August is practically unknown, with only a day or two in May & September

The Lagos / Meia Praia area

Lagos has so much to offer - beautiful beaches, plenty of fine restaurants, an amazing coastline and a choice of golf courses! It’s is a fascinating town with a maze of winding, cobbled streets which are full of pavement restaurants, cafe bars, antique shops and art galleries. Many of the restaurants have outdoor tables and are happy to welcome younger children, catering for all tastes and budgets. And after you’ve eaten, there’s no shortage of bars and discos where you drink and dance the night away.

There are 3 excellent golf courses, watersports, sailing and windsurfing, with plenty of boat trips on offer enabling you to view the extraordinary coastline or even to go on dolphin safari! When you combine all the above with street entertainment, a busy calendar of festivals, markets and fairs throughout the year, you will see why Lagos is a location you simply cannot fail to enjoy!

Lagos is one hour by motorway from Faro Airport.

The flight to Faro from the UK takes about 2 and a half hours. Fly with Monarch, Easyjet, BA, Thomson and others.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds and are for up to 8 people including cot and highchair for a child under 2 years - if included in the 8 people.

The villa can accomodate one extra person on a z-bed or one extra child in a cot. An additional person over 2 years is an extra £60 per week. An additional child under 2 yrs is £25 per week including a cot. Hire of additional highchair is £12.50 per week.

Sunday arrival - an additional £40 per check in.

Optional pool safety fence may be hired for £50 per week

We also ask for an additional damage deposit of £150 which is returned after the holiday subject to no breakages or damage
