Our modern, spacious apartment in the new and exclusive development of Quinta das Palmeiras offers everything you need for a perfect relaxing holiday. Within a few minutes walk you can be wandering through the historic old town of Lagos, with its many traditional shops and local restaurants, or enjoying a sundowner on the beautiful marina. A ten minute walk along the promenade will take you to the safe sandy town beach of Praia da Batata.
The apartment has everything you need including TV, DVD, air-conditioning, ample storage and underground parking to keep your car cool during the hot days (we hope!). At the secure residents-only family friendly pools there are sun loungers and parasols, alongside an enclosed soft mat playground area for the children. Our sunny, spacious, balcony, accessible from the kitchen and living area, is furnished with comfortable rattan dining table and lounge chairs.
Our local manager Gail will advise you on airport transfers, toy boxes, welcome packs and general information about collecting keys and Lagos itself. We love the fresh, local food on offer in the many and varied restaurants, the ease of walking around the town without the need for a car, and the friendliness of the local Portugese. The living area is comfortably furnished with leather sofas, coffee table, lamps and rugs, with the dining area seating 6 guests. The TV/DVD can access satellite channels (not BBC). Double glass doors with electric security blinds lead onto large balcony.

Both bedrooms have large fully fitted wardrobes with plenty of hanging space and drawers. Bedside tables, with bedside lamps, a dressing table and stool. Large mirrors and rugs complete the furnishings. Hairdryers.
The en-suite to the double room has a hydrotherapy bath with shower, basin and toilet, bidet , towel rails and toiletries storage unit. Shaver socket.

A washing machine is situated in the kitchen along with a clothes airer, iron and ironing board
The apartment is on the first floor and the lift stops just outside the apartment door. There is access from the underground car park directly to the apartment.
Guests also have free access to the leisure centre which includes an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi/hot tub, fully equipped gym, showers and WCs.
We can arrange for a cot and high chair to be available. Welcome packs can be ordered in advance to include fruit/tea/filter coffee/juice/bread/eggs/wine etc. Please enquire when booking. Also baby food, nappies, toys can be available on request. We will do our best to accommodate early/late arrivals.
Our manager Gail will meet you at the apartment, will settle you in and answer any queries you may have. She has a wealth of local knowledge having lived in the area for many years and will be your point of contact throughout your stay.
Faro airport is 55 mins drive. Car hire while not necessary is available, bus station is 2 mins walk while the train station is 5 mins walk, taxis are also available.

The Algarve region
The western Algarve is very unspoilt and we love to explore the wide open beaches on the west coast with the waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean. We drive north of Aljezur to the unspoilt coastline and enjoy walking along the beach before having a wonderful meal of fresh sardines and salad at the local Portuguese restaurant whilst watching the sun go down.
The town of Monchique is one of the highest parts of the western Algarve. It is a market town up in the Serra de Monchique, which is a thickly wooded mountain range separating the Algarve from Alentejo. The jouney up (and down) to Monchique offers spectacular views and is totally different from coastal Algarve. The streets are cobbled and there is a great walk up the hill to the old Monastery.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants for a relaxing coffee or beer.
The local beaches are wonderful for families and the mild climate and hot summers makes it a good destination most of the year.
There is plenty of night life with an enormous range of bars and restaurants
Today Lagos is a major resort but it remains a living breathing working Portuguese town and is an important services centre, fishing port and local market centre. Its pretty winding cobbled streets are full of outdoor restaurants, interesting shops and has a lively atmosphere whilst during the summer months there are concerts held in the amphitheatre close to the old Town walls.
You can visit the old Slave Market to view an art exhibition or while away some time in Lagos Museum to learn about the colourful past of this charming town.
The port of Sagres is about thirty minutes drive away and well worth a visit. The Fort just outside the town is the most south westerly point of Europe and further along from the fort, is the headland, Cabo de São Vincente (“Cape St. Vincent”). There is also a lovely lighthouse (claimed to be one of Europe's most powerful lighthouses) and the views from the point are simply breath taking.
