Home description

The villa is 4 km north of Lagos on the top of a hill, in a small development of about 15 villas. This is a very quiet site, with a lovely view over the valley at the front and is very private at the back.

The historic town of Lagos, is only a 5-minute drive away and has a large beach, marina, golf course, excellent restaurants and shopping facilities.

If sun, relaxation, peace and quiet is what you are after, then our villa is just what you have been looking for!

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Algarve coast line stretches about 100 miles from the western-most tip to the Spanish border.
The western ends juts out into the Atlantic, a rugged, undeveloped area, which has retained its natural charm. Traditional arts and crafts, which have all but disappeared from the eastern coast - form part of the way of life here.

The western coastline is extremely dramatic, with cliffs of black rock from which Algarvian fishermen cling precariously hundreds of feet above the sea, for hours on end. Beaches vary from tiny, intimate coves to long lengths of open soft sand, where the Atlantic waves crash and retreat.

Nothing appears to have changed over the centuries, and the entire area is virtually untouched by tourism.
The Algarve boasts more sunshine hours than California. Even in the winter, the Algarve is, without doubt, one of the sunniest spots in Europe.


Lagos / Bensafrim area

There are many good beaches and restaurants along the coast near Lagos. If golf is a requirement, there are two excellent courses just 10 minutes drive from the villa.

The obvious reason why people visit the Algarve is the beaches that are amongst the best in the world. Visitors to this area are spoilt for choice. Lagos has a very large beach, with a spectacular view across the marina and town.

There are many great beaches to east & west of Lagos. To get to these, you have to take a taxi or drive, but it is worth the trip. Many beaches have clusters of beach bars, restaurants and washrooms. Just sit back and take in the rays!


How to get there

Jardim de Bensafrim (Garden of Bensafrim) is located between a typical Algarvian village of Bensafrim and a busy town and marina of Lagos. Our villa has lovely views over the countryside at the front and is just five minutes drive from Lagos, one hour from Faro airport. It is ten minutes to the golf courses of Parque da Florestal and Boa Vista. The beaches of Luz, Burgau, Salema, Boco do Rio, Zavial and Ingrina are only ten to fifteen minutes away by car.

The villa is our private family holiday home and we have tried to make it as comfortable as possible. The villa has many comforts that you would expect in your own home e.g. leather suite, games, books, clock radio’s, DVD’s, Sky TV, music CD’s. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances.

Master bedroom upstair has a king size bed and en-suite bath/shower.
Upstairs balcony with view over the valley from master bedroom.

Two bedrooms downstairs (two single beds in each) and sliding patio door onto terrace at front & pool at rear
Shower room and toilet downstairs.

Large lounge/dining room with two sliding patio doors onto front terrace.
Lounge with TV, satellite, DVD & music centre.

Large modern kitchen with fridge-freezer, microwave, cooker & dishwasher.
All sliding doors have steel shutters to keep the house cool in summer.
