Lagos is located straight down the A22 from Faro International Airport and is situated on the coast part of the Algarve. It has a long history and retains much of its charm.

The master bedroom, complete with en suite, is tastefully furnished with double bed, fitted wardrobes, full length mirror, bedside tables and lamps, air conditioning/heating, dressing table and hair dryer.
Bedroom 2 has two modern single beds which can easily be pushed together to form a double bed. This is complemented by fitted wardrobes, bedside lamp and table, air conditioning/heating, mirror, wall mounted shelf and hair dryer.

Your holiday experience is further enhanced by the spacious dining table and chairs and entertainment from the Sony flat screen 32" TV, DVD and CD player. Access to the full sky package is available. The lounge opens on to a very large, private balcony which overlooks the swimming pools, gardens & Marina. There is a dining table & chairs for 'Al fresco' dining and 2 sun loungers for relaxing, whether you are reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine. The two sun loungers are colapsable and can be used around the pool.
The apartment is cleaned and prepared for your arrival. Fresh white bed linen & towels are provided. You are kindly requested to bring your own towels for use on the beach or by the swimming pools.
For piece of mind, video entry phone, smoke alarm, fire blanket, fire extinguisher, door viewer & window locks have been fitted. We can provide travel cot & bouncer chair at no extra cost !
The apartment is fully air conditioned with an excellent heating system if required.
THE APARTMENT IS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN WITH THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY FEATURE OF TEMPERED GLASS FITTED INFRONT OF THE BALCONY RAILS. IF REQUIRED WE PROVIDE FREE USE OF TRAVEL COT, HIGH CHAIR AND LOW BOUNCER CHAIR. MOST OWNERS DO CHARGE FOR THE USE OF EQUIPMENT AS IT IS RENTED FROM THEIR AGENTS. THE EQUIPMENT BELONGS TO US, THEREFORE IT IS NOT USED WEEKLY AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ALL WE ASK IS FOR YOU TO LEAVE THE EQUIPMENT AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO FIND IT, CLEAN. THANK YOU.
There is also a large selection of water toys for children of all ages. Please take advantage of them and they include buckets, spades, rubber rings in all shapes, colours and sizes plus a number of body boards. All we ask if for you to return them to the apartment at the end of each day for safe keeping, thank you.

The large balcony is accessed from the open plan living area and comprises a dining patio table and 6 chairs for al fresco eating and 2 fully extending sun loungers. It enjoys the sun from first thing in the morning until just before tea time - making it ideal for private bathing. We found this perfect because not only were we able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea in the sun but then chill out over a late evening meal in the warm tranquil shade which is much needed after an energising day in the blazing sun.
There is a large pool and a children’s pool as well as beautifully maintained garden areas. This is free exclusively to the residents of the gated condominium area called Dom Manuel. This condominium is unique in that it is the only development of apartments in the Marina which has its own communal pools. All other Marina apartments must use the pools located at the Marina Hotel which can be up to a 5 minute walk away, therefore, there is no pool view from the apartments & sometimes there is an additional charge for pool use. This is worth checking prior to booking !
By our pools, sun loungers, umbrellas + table & chairs are provided free of charge for the use of guests.
There is a grassed area for children to play safely and the children's pool is ideal for supervised toddlers. It is very relaxing and friendly around the pool area and children can always find somebody to play with!
During a short walk towards the marina there is a small children's park, bumper cars and small boats for children to use (cost is 1 euro per ride)
On your arrival at the apartment, our apartment manager Corinne will be there to greet you and help you settle in. She will be contactable throughout your stay should you need any assistance.
The apartment is located in the exclusive Don Manuel complex which is the place to stay to enjoy the many attractions of Lagos with out the need of a car. As it is part of the award winning Marina complex, it is maintained to an extremley high standard. An added bonus is that Don Manuel is the only complex on the Marina to boast its own private pools and is gated to ensure its exclusivity is maintained and also to provide a safe area for children to play !
Our representatives, an English couple, will be contactable throughout your stay, should you require any assistance. The rental also includes a welcome folder, towels and bed linen. For piece of mind, smoke alarm, fire blanket, fire extinguisher, door viewer, video phone entry & window locks have been fitted also the apartment has tempered glass fitted in front of the balcony rails. The Algarve / West Algarve region
Lagos - The town was founded by the Phoenicians. The Moors made it an important trading town before the re-conquest by Christian armies in 1241. It was used by Henry the Navigator as a base for African trade and remnants of the first slave market in Europe can be found alongside the old custom house. A visit should be made to the Igreja de Santo António and the museum next door being one of the few buildings which survived the 1755 earthquake. Lagos has a daily fresh fish market, artisan shops with pottery and clothing bargains and many small craft shops. The historic old town is steeped in over a thousand years tradition. Jugglers, craft markets and artists are common in the cobbled streets. The pedestrianisation of the town centre has been a major success and the town is very lively in the evenings. With its winding streets, it retains an old world Portuguese charm and relaxing atmosphere. It's easy to sit in the marina and watch the world go by, but why not take a stroll along the beautiful waterfront or visit the nearby sandy beaches. The choice of cafes, restaurants and shopping is excellent. At night, Lagos comes alive with open air stalls and street performers.

The Marina is within a short walking distance of Lagos town, railway station & beach. There are numerous cosmopolitan cafes, bars and restaurants in the Marina, together with cash machines and telephones. It is a gentle 10 minute scenic stroll across the river and footbridge to the bustling town of Lagos.

Marina Health Club
A short walk from the apartment is the Marina Health Club which is part of the 4* luxury Marina Hotel. The Health club can be used all day for a small fee. Facilities include bike hire, Swimming pool, Gym, Sauna and Beauty treatment.
An ideal base for golfers, the town of Lagos offers a plentiful supply of bars and restaurants while a short car drive will take you to a host of magnificent golf courses.

BoaVista - 10 mins drive.
Parque de Floresta - 20 mins drive.
Slightly further afield there is the Penina and Alto courses which are about a 30 mins drive.

The complex is located 80km from Faro airport and is served by an excellent motorway. Journey time is approximately 45 minutes and a taxi will cost in the region of 70/100 euros. For parties larger than four people, alternative travel arrangements can be made easily. Please ask for details when making a booking.

Our first time in Portugal was made a very
pleasant experience because the apartment offered comfort, space and a serene atmosphere. Its accessibility to shops of different sorts, the scenic view of the marina and its proximity to the center of Lagos were good values for money.
Besides, our kids were very happy, they had lots of fun. The train station was unbelievably close that a trip to Faro and the coastal towns was irresistible. It's worth trying.
Apart from the poor signal from the wifi(but prepaid internet is very cheap in Portugal), everything about the accommodation is delightful. I give it 90% rating.

This is a lovely apartment, in a secure and well maintained complex, within easy reach of Lagos Town, and right on top of the fabulous Marina. The apartment itself is well equipped and has the bonus of a full Sky TV package. The other added bonus is the owner's manager in Lagos, Corinne, who is always there, if you need her, and is such a welcoming person, on your arrival. We have been going to Lagos for many years, staying in apartments, and quality hotels, but for comfort and facilities you will have everything you need here. The only downside is that, although there is a private pool on the complex, we found that there is definitely an under provision of sun loungers, which can be a problem, as the apartment only benefits from the sun until just after lunchtime. If you are not down at the pool by 9am, at this time of year, you may not get a sun lounger, and this resulted in several tenants putting towels on at 8.30, even though they didn't use them until late morning, or even later. I do believe that there is scope for many more loungers within the complex. Overall though, don't be put off by this, for the sake of missing out on a lovely apartment, great location, and fabulous town.
Overall a very complimentary review highlighting the many positive aspects of the apartment. However it is important to clarify that there are two collapsable sunloungers on the main balcony which are easily taken via the lift for use by the pools. Regarding the direct sunlight on the balcony. Like most of the apartments in the Marina, the sun gradually subsides during the afternoon as it pans slowly across the balcony. In many cases this is actually considered a major benefit as it provides welcome relief from the direct sunlight which is at its most intense during the afternoon.

This as a beautiful, extremely well equipped apartment in a fabulous location. Lagos itself is beautiful with fabulous beach, lovely new marina and quaint old town. The property is, in our view, ideally situated on the marina with beach and old town within easy reach. The facilities in the apartment and its complex are second to none and ideal for families. You don't even need a hire car!
Service from the apartment owner was excellent. We plan to return and would recommend without hesitation
