The 'Residence Regina' was an old lakeside villa, which has just been completely refurbished and is now home to beautiful apartments and separate villas.
It is set in it's own park, on the lakesiide road in Laglio, sitting on the hillside with outstanding views.
The apartment has it's own private garden overlooking the lake and because it is set back from the road, it is a very peaceful spot for relaxing and enjoying the fresh lake air.
Modernly furnished, it is ideal for a couple or family. Apart from the comfortable king size bed, there are bunk beds which fold away in the bedroom and a comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge.
The warm colours of the walls make it feel very homely and the kitchen is fully equipped, to make you feel at ease, whether you want to cook for yourselves or just have breakfast here and dine out.

From your base here, you will be able to tour the area, either by car, on foot or local ferry. It takes 45 minutes to reach Lugano, the swiss lake by car and Bellagio is an enjoyable ferry ride away.
The building is a beautiful gated building with private underground parking and largeg elevator which takes you to the garden level where the apartment is, so it is convenient if you have walking problems as there are no steps involved to reach the apartment.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area

Lake Como, surrounded by mountains, hills valleys and cities of art, has much to offer. It is situated in one of the most economically and industrially important regions in Northern Italy, nestled between Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda, right on the Swiss boarder, framed by the majesty of the alps, where different cultures have merged over the centuries to form it’s unique and inimitable charm.

While spending a holiday on Lake Como, you will have the chance to see much more than you would expect.
You could explore its breathtaking surroundings, beautiful villas and picturesque villages…
You could compare it with the less well known but far from less beautiful Lake Orta and Lake Lugano…
You could visit the nearby cities, full of history and culture, such as Milan, Bergamo and of course Como the capital city of the Lake, just to mention a few…

You could slip into Switzerland and pay a visit to Campione D’Italia and its casino, or travel a little further and enjoy the nature in one of the jet-set ski resorts such as St. Moritz.

Laglio area

The apartment is situated on the boarder of the ancient village of Laglio, still unspoiled by modernization, keeping its old world feeling with characteristic streets and stepped lanes crossed by low bridges which join the century old houses. Small local shops with, only too helpful shop-keepers, are nearby. Cernobbio with it's world famous Villa D'Este is 10 minutes drive away, the city of Como, the silk capital of Italy is 15 minutes away and of course Milan, one of the world's fashion leaders is 50 minutes away. You can also find 'outlet' stores nearby and if you cross the boarder into Switzerland there is no end to the shopping in elegant Lugano, while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

There are also several world class 18 hole golf courses within 30 minutes drive, the Monza Grand Prix racing track is 1 hours drive away and interesting old Italian towns such as Bergamo Verona and Venice are all within a days visit.

How to get there

The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa, but you can also fly to Linate and Bergamo, Orio al Serio, low fair airlines fly into all of these airports.
Reach Como by train and or bus, or hire a car from the many hire car companies which offer their services at the airports.
Driving from the UK or other European countries is now easy, quick and enjoyable, we are just accros the Swiss boarder and the nearest boarder point is Chiasso.
The nearest railway station is Como San Giovanni and international trains pass through here every hour or so. You can make it a twin centre holiday and travel by the Italian rail service, which, by the way is very reliable.
We also have a very good taxi service, with English speaking drivers and we will be happy to give you their contact number when you book.

This new apartment has a big bedroom with king size bed and a fold away bunk bed, thus sleeping 4 people.
In the lounge there is a comfortable double sofa bed, so it can sleep 6.

Further details outdoors:
The apartment is reached by a large elevator from the private parking area. From the elevator there is a path taking you to the entrance.
From the french windows from the lounge and bedroom lead out onto the small, private garden overlooking the lake, where the views are fantastic and it is quiet and peaceful.

Conditions

We have a 5 night minimum stay. You are welcome to stay for fewer nights, our minimum price is €750.
Our prices are all inclusive. There are no extra charges at the end of your stay.
